Fury is the favored one but that Anomaly status of Maelstrom might make him immune to that unspace trick. He held up to Thanos' attack well enough. The thing is, if Fury tries that trick and fails it could weaken Fury enough for Maelstrom could beat it the way Cap Brit and co beat Fury. Fury might adapt to Maelstrom and try something different though, who knows?
