In the hobbit, when he says he'll show Blbo the way out if Bilbo wis, but if he wins he'll eat him. What I wonder is, was Gollum really willing to show Bilbo the way if he had won? I know you may think this is obvious because Bilbo did win, & Gollum didn't show him the way. But the fact is that Gollum is a very twisted character. H's very much multy-personallitid. So I think it's possib;e that when he said he'd show Bilbo the way that he meant it, but by the end of the game he was so angry & fustrated that he went back on his word.
Rembe that Gollum isn't completely evil.

I doubt that he would have shown him out. snacking on fish and filthy goblins must suck compared to eating plump hobbits.
