I think the Crimson Gem is currently in the Crimson Cosmos (at least that's where it was when Colossus touched it). But if this is the classic Juggernaut then his Crimson Gem would be somewhere in deep space, since he threw it there.

In either case, Nightcrawler isn't going to get anywhere near the gem. Not that teleporting the gem somewhere "even-more-away" would do Nightcrawler any good... the power of the Juggernaut is granted at the time of touching the gem; after that, the Gem and the Juggernaut can go their separate ways (as they usually have).

Going by the scenario you're theorizing AND actual comic book history, Nightcrawler would win that battle.

Refer to Marvel Team Up #150, the last issue of that particular title.

It features Spider-Man and the X-Men going against Juggernaut and Black Tom Cassidy and establishes that anyone who touches the gem (at least Black Tom Cassidy in that particular case), SPLITS the Juggernaut power with Cain.

So they become more powerful and Cain becomes less so.


Juggernaut himself became vulnerable enough that he could feel the pain of a building collapsing on him and the heat of a fiery explosion. Black Tom, with identical power, found himself nearly TKOed by Nightcrawler's punch blitz.
