Didn't Byrne make it clear on Twitter that these books were written as if they were canon? Keep in mind that Classic Parallax is arguably the most powerful Green Lantern of all time, and many orders of magnitude beyond Hal's conventional power levels. If the Silver Surfer can metabolize Classic Parallax's power then Green Lantern Hal Jordan wouldn't even be a threat to the Silver Surfer.

That said, the Silver Surfer's feats in canon are far beyond that of Hal Jordan's. Both in terms of raw power and versatility.

Not only do Green Lanterns operate on a lower scale and scope of power than the Silver Surfer. But the Silver Surfer can more or less do anything, telepathy, telekiniesis, matter transmutation, energy absorption, phase through matter, bend space, time travel, you name it. He's not limited to light constructs and a misleading slogan of only being limited to his imagination. Keep in mind that Quasar's light constructs meant to contain the Silver Surfer were proven about as effective as rice paper.

And if all that wasn't enough, Hal is on a timer. Even if we make the most generous assumptions and pretend that the Silver Surfer will job throughout the fight Hal's ring will run out of energy. The Silver Surfer generates his own energies.

Green Lanterns have done literally everything Surfer has done and far more, at several levels higher than Surfer has. You're welcome to post literally any feat and I'll post something better.

We're not talking about Quasar here.

Abhi, he didn't break through the shield, he simply reduced his density to become intangible. In terms of toughness the Surfer gets the nod. GLs wouldn't likely be able to pull themselves together after being directed by cosmic lasers.

Neither of these guys translate into an identical copy, so it's pointless trying to compare them.

The Surfer has his strengths and Ring wielders have theirs. In the DCU the Surfer wouldn't be a lightweight in any way shape or form. Could He defeat Hal? Of course. Those shields are meaningless to a guy that can pass right through them.

Speed? He's fast even for DCU standards. Could Hal beat the Surfer? Sure, just not for a majority.

Jack T Chance literally reassembled himself after getting cut into pieces by Lobo if you are talking about some random feat for Surfer. Kyle literally held souls of entire Justice League in Obsidian age even after getting killed. Hal resurrected himself after getting killed and turning into a black Lantern.

There's literally no feat Surfer has which Lanterns haven't done.

We go by feats, not your random thoughts.

Surfer is slow as shit compared to pretty much any speedster.

Hal literally oneshots him at this point, he's on a different level for years.

Surfer isn't even on pre-pubescent Kryptonians level. A black hole almost ripped him apart just recently, even 12 years old Jon Kent can tank black holes just fine.

Sounds like PIS, Norrin's handled black holes just fine before. In fact in the Annihilation arc I referenced he was at the center of one he created himself.
