The heck? The thing is that she's usually portrayed as a ***** in most alternate realities (Flashpoint, Injustice, Kingdom Come, Superman: Red Son, etc.).

I actually liked her portrayal in Red Son. Ventures into man's world for the first time, meets the first person who can understand her...only to get sacrificed.

I can see how she would act the way she did.

No, that is 100% canon, from the main WW book.

That said, Ares did plan to die, and his spirit lived on. It's not like he was fighting against it.

The Highfather case had some context though, right?

Ares looked somewhat worn out ahead of time too. Basically WW executed him.

The comic's not collected so I haven't personally read it. I think it involved some betrayal, probably caught him off guard.

And WW wasn't worn out? She was so beat up she had to tape the axe to her hand.

Also afterwards she punched Zeus on his ass for being a dick. That issue was so boss.

Ares was my only connection to DC when he died I never read any DC comic again , for your information I must say that Ares is simply way out of wonder woman's league !!

Ares didn't catch Highfather off guard when he killed him. Though the whole plot did involve a betrayal from Ares. He also killed him while inside the source. I have the scans if you need them.

No Ares didn't catch him off-guard - there wasn't a cheap shot or back stab or anything like that - but Ares DID have prep time and had 'channelled his energies;, for what its worth.
