the 2020 incarnation of ironman always seemed like a beast to me, but then again so did the bleeding edge armor. fight takes place in the middle of nyc. who wins?

What leo said. What exactly did 2020 do that was/is beastly? I've only seen a few of his feats, all of which were underwhelming to me.

The only... I repeat: only thing that makes me think 2020 has an inkling of a chance is the fact that Otto employed his tech to instantly shut down the Bleeding Edge armor:

Aside from that, 2020 gets spite-stomped.

i think if 2020 were redone, it could be a lot cooler and tougher, but its feats are....not good. he had his a$$ kicked by both spider man and classic machine man. imo, writers have STARTED trying to maybe "undo" some of that by giving future starktech some credit. maybe? could be due to the revelation of the new arno in IM books perhaps?

Yeah, it seems like 2020's been given a smidgen of a push over the last few years(about time), but like you said: historically speaking, he's been wholly unimpressive... The idea of 2020 is better than the character actually was, imo.

The scan I posted is from ASM #683, wherein Otto had ridiculously haxxed counter-measures in place for all of the Avengers. As an example: in the very same issue he'd replaced Rhino's horn with a tooth from the Midgard Serpent, so that he could skewer Thor(I'm sure you remember this.) The 2020 StarkTech Otto used was just another piece of said haxxness, imo.... I was still impressed, though.

Bleeding edge is better but it's just for now, I'm sure in future comics it will change, you know what I mean if you read IM comics.

2020 sucked. Now the armor that Cable brought back during AvX was beast.

The rematch, but this time they go shot for shot trying to finish each other just using physical strength. Iron Man even had help in this battle, and Machine Man was badly damaged still beat him and pretty badly
