Where would you place this Golden Age character strength wise :
http://s29.postimg.org/k96185xvn/Cave_In.jpg http://s29.postimg.org/yebu9z6wz/Space_Shuttle.jpg http://s29.postimg.org/s4gkmz7ib/Towing_Barge.jpg http://s29.postimg.org/oegxu2vnn/WWII_German_tank.jpg http://s29.postimg.org/p93hg43ib/WWII_US_bomber.jpg

Using google and wikipedia for "guesstimates" on the objects he was lifting, I got the following :
1) WII Era German tank : 20-30 tons
2) WII Era US Bomber (looks EXACTLY like the Super Fortress Model) : 60+ish tons
3) Modern Space Shuttle : 80+ish tons

No numbers on the huge @$$ barge he was towing or the weight of the rocks he lifted to free those kids from the cave in. He didn't appear to be straining during any of these feats either.

IMHO he's at least CL75 (maybe even CL90). Looks to be stronger than She-Hulk, Colossus, Luke Cage, Rhino; but weaker than Thing or Wonderman who are low CL100s.

Keep in mind this isn't a fight (he's actually horrendous H2H). This is simply a contest of strength.

KingD19
So a guy you're pegging at Class 75-90 appears to be stronger than Colossus, She-Hulk, and Rhino?

And you're putting Thing on the same level as Wonder Man?

Que?

She-Hulk tapped out at 80-85 tons and she looked like she was straining. This happened recently. What other lifting feats does she have?

What lifting feats does Colossus have? The only big ones I can recall was that stone column he used to hit Gladiator over the head with and that ship during SWI that he braced from crashing (and even then, they engaged the thrusters to lessen the impact, yes I'm aware he was injured prior).

You can clearly see they are below CL90 strength wise. Remember this isn't a fight, this is purely based on on panel lifting feats.

Yes I'm putting Thing around Wonderman's level strength wise. But that's another thread.

@Carver
He isn't really lifting the Sentinel, just it's foot. How much could that possibly weigh?

But thanks for that, it was new to me. Never saw it.

KingD19
Just recently he stopped a gigantic Sentinel from trying to crush him while his powers were weakened/warped due to his time as a Phoenix.(Scan above) A person stepping hard enough can put most of their weight in one foot when trying to step on something. That sentinel was doing the same thing and Pete seemed pretty at ease holding it back.

He's broken Vibranium Shackles.

He's thrown Wolverine into near orbit from the ground with enough speed to catch a ship that would have reached escape velocity in a few seconds.

He's carried a flooded X-Jet/Blackbird out of the ocean.

He's casually stopped a boat from leaving by just holding onto the mooring rope/anchor.

There's more, but I'd have to search through his respect thread.

See this is what I was looking for. The only impressive ones being the boat and Xjet. Scans of these?

Here's a respect thread. Some of his strength feats are at the very top. He's got more than that though as that list hasn't been updated in quite a while.

He's clearly Class 100. It's even been stated several times on panel that he's Class 100. And he's gone through several upgrades from his teenager years when he was around Class 70-75 up till now where he's with the big boys.

carver9
Depowered Juggernaut struggled lifting weights that Colossus lift with ease on a regular basis. Juggernaut asked to lift Colossus weights and at the time he was lifting it, he was lifting against 90 tons and it still wasn't Colossus max (as stated in panel) which is the reason he asked for more.

Link asks me to log in. I don't have a herochat account. Anyone have scans of the XJet and boat incidents King is talking about?

Scans? I'm not doubting you, I just want to see this in context.

Looking. Also, here is a scan of him smashing through a Barrier that the combine might of Strange, Wolverine, and Storm couldn't break.

Here Colossus catch the peek of a mountain and states that he can easily hold it up.

Again, thanks Carver. So far it seems that Colossus and Captain Wonder are peers strength wise.

PS Carver do you have the XJet and boat scans King was talking about?

Ok what about She-Hulk and Luke Cage? Anything for them?

Colossus is a 100 tonner and yes, I have both.

Here is one of them.

Let me get the other. One sec.

I'm not impressed with the boat showing but here it is.

thumb up thumb up to Carver!

I don't know about calling Colossus a CL100 though. Look at Namor and Wonderman. They are low to mid level CL100s and their strength feats blow anyone I mentioned in this thread out the water.

But back to topic, now for Team She Hulk and Luke Cage. Anything from them strength wise?

carver9
Why is Namor a mid class 100?

Cause he lacks uber feats of strength like Hulk has.

IMHO Wonderman is low CL100 : balancing Hydro base (but straining his @$$ off to do it), lifting that Pyramid Grey Hulk threw at the West Coast Avengers, lifting weights that made Thing struggle, etc...

Likewise Namor is mid CL100 : actually LIFTING Hydro Base (which is insane), lifting/balancing Utopia, etc...

Now back on topic! smile

Team She-Hulk and Team Luke Cage show yourselves!

Colossus is no class 100. Class 100 isn't about how much one can lift, its a designation for people in Thor class strength. Just like in DC, characters gets called "Superman level" in strength. Now ask yourselves, can Colossus get in a fight with Thor and look respectable because the last time they met Thor casually two shotted him.

Thing and Colossus are class 85 characters, they can make class 100 characters work for a win but are outclassed in every way.

Abhi, this is a thread about LIFTING feats, it's not a fight. The CL thing is about approximate strength level. CL75 means you lift/press about 75 tons. CL100 means you lift/press 100+ tons.

Wonder Man lifted 50000 ton press for awhile, is he class 50000 for that? Heck even Spidey has done stuff that's way above lifting 100 tons. You may as well move nearly every brick to class 100 by your definition.

abhilegend
But I like how you actually acknowledge that Namor is mid class 100. Good for you.

pym-ftw
Not to start a pissing match but when has spidey lifted 100 tons? I just wanted to know.
