Who should play Deadpool in a movie?

I think I would like Ricky Gervaise to play Deadpool. He is funny and could carry the character.

Its going to be Ryan Reynolds that will be playing him.

Why would you cast a 50-ish, pudgy British comic actor as Deadpool?

When has Gervais even shown he could do a North American accent, for starters...it makes as much sense as casting Jack Black as Green Lantern (which nearly happened.)

It's a moot point because Ryan Reynolds is still connected to playing him somewhere down the line. Even if he doesn't, they are going to cast someone athletic with a comic motormouth, not someone short and dumpy.
