If this is done well this could turn into a mega franchise, Thats a big if but just saying.

Could be cool, but they're gonna have to find someone to play Adama who can bring a real sense of reverence and gravitas to the role.

Unfortunately, I don't see this turning out well.

Adama? Wrong franchise...

Couldn't be less excited. The Stargate movie was a lame affair. Emmerich returning to direct his own remake 20+ years later, just as he's getting round to directing two sequels to Independence Day (also 20 years later) = Creatively bankrupt.

I enjoyed the movie (never got around to watching the show). I'm looking forward to it.

For the two movies that they did for the tv show, I preferred 'Stargate Continuum' more then 'The Ark of Truth'

as for this not too sure about it.

I want to see the reboot if it helps the franchise, but topping SG-1 won't be easy.

First movie was good but the series and everything else that followed was garbage IMO. That being said it can be redone and better. Star Trek turned around for me so why can't Stargate.

Imagine a world in which the three "Star" franchises are box office draws.

Lexington
drop Richard Dean Anderson and we could have a Winner.

Kazenji
its movie forward

Never watched Star Trek, never watched BSG, I like Star Wars, but I'm not one of the mega fans... I was really into all the SG series. I'm down for more.

Hate to sound melodramatic but BSG was one hell of a spiritual trip for me.
I'd watch 3-4 episodes a night then spend the entire next day anxious to get back & lose myself in the story, the characters, the verse...

This new trilogy will let Roland Emmerich finish the story he started

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/new-stargate-trilogy-will-let-roland-emmerich-finish-the-story-he-started-715

according to Dean Devlin in the link, They wanted to do that back in 1994 but some happened with the studio not allowing them to do so.

More Sci Fi and more fantasy the better.

BruceSkywalker
never really cared for the original film but enjoyed the tv shows.. I will see this though

Flyattractor
It is funny how you can sorta tie BSG and Stargate together.... although I like to use BSG TOS cause it didn't suck. Well the first season didn't suck....

Kazenji
Emmerich jealous of Marvel's success it seems

http://au.ign.com/articles/2016/06/20/independence-day-director-roland-emmerich-mocks-marvel-movies

Flyattractor
What!? Emmerich don't Like the Super Hero Movies!?

Quick somebody call Marvel and Disney and them to CANCEL ALL THEIR PROJECTS NOW!

Kazenji
He may not be a fan of those movies but there's no need to bash it.
