The games after Way of the samurai are actually prequels to the 1st Way of the Samurai. Part 2 is before Part 1. Part 3 is before Part 2 due to the fact that it is set in the warring states period and Part 4 is between Part 2 and Part 1. Will they have an actual sequel to Way of the Samurai Part 5 or will they go further back in time? If they did they should go to the Heishi period, It would be cool to see Yoshitsune and Benkei back in action like Genji however they should do something that takes place after Part 1.

Didn't the first game take place at the end of the Samurai era? Makes sense there wouldn't be a sequel if they were the last of the caste

I thought the way of the gun was introduced and what took over after WOTS1? I mean there's not much a samurai can do in an age where the gun rules.

Yup History showed us how that ended up going
