Deadline

Galan007

Is Iron Fist better at pure martial arts or are some of his abilities mystical? In other words it could be argued that Dr Strange is actually the best martial artist if we are going to include mystical abilities, however this could overlap and there may not be a clear distinction.

Endless Mike
Gamora

Is he the best though?

He's above Shang, depends what you mean by pure MA... Champion beats him in a h2h fight.

He is? Huh you saying Champion fought him?

pym-ftw
Not to the best of my knowledge, but Champion is beating effectively anyone if all other powers are turned off.

Deadline
Erm ok, why is he better than Shang?

pym-ftw
He can shatter Shang and the planet he resides on..

Do you mean Danny vs Shang? Danny is noticeably faster and strikes harder.

BruceSkywalker
not in any order

Iron Fist
Batman
Shang Chi

riv6672
DC-karate Kid
Marvel-Shang Chi

Everywhere else in the comicsverse, The Badger.

So it is written, so let it be done.

Konton
Straight h2h, powers off...

Probably a toss up between Karate Kid and Mantis.

Golgo13
Val Armor or Jin Si. Jin is a very obscure character. She is the personification of Martial Arts, who easily owned Batman.

riv6672
I wish Karate Kid would come back to the present and get series, like in the 70s. Of at least a mini.

Seeing him meet folks like Shiva and Richard Dragon'd be sweet.

Q99
DC- Karate Kid. If you don't count future stuff, Cassandra Cain.

Marvel- I'd say Mantis.

Though if you only count those without powers- and I'm counting chi abilities as powers here- maybe Shang Chi.

Most of Marvel's big martial artists are powered to some extent. Danny, Daredevil, etc..

Prof. T.C McAbe
Batman
Karate Kid

Wolverine
Captain America

Since the beginning of time he's dedicated the whole time to martial arts training.

If you were talking about Champion that is.

Did you vote no or yes?

riv6672
Wolverine?!?
No.
Badger!

Kazenji
Wolverine's got Alzheimer's when it comes to martial arts.

Deadline

Ah forgive me.

I have been living in England for a while. But I was in the No camp. Scotland has got more powers either way. A lot fo people have forgot about that.

Shouldn't Thanos be above her since he trained her?

Ok, nice one I guess.

Yes. When he's at his best, he's very good, but there's been multiple stories where he's grown too used to his regen and needs to go back for training to get back in the groove.

Also, Squirrel Girl's better.

Gamora's the most dangerous blah blah, not necessarily the best or most dangerous martial artist. Thats a misconception. And Thanos being a high level martial artist sure as HELL is.

Endless Mike
I was thinking of someone whose primary/most often used power is martial arts and physical combat. Thanos might know martial arts but he doesn't use them all that often and isn't primarily known for them rather than his other powers, and they aren't his first resort in a fight. Same reason I don't count Doctor Strange.

riv6672
Then Karate Kid and Shang Chi ate your best choices.

Good thread, got me working in a new sig.
