More seriously, I think the answer is Pym putting a shrunken MT in something like a very durable Pokeball.

MT can Teleport and has regrown from nothing. He is also considerably stronger and faster than Pym.

Man-Thing has evolved defences on the fly mid Spidey blitz.

Maybe if Pym brought a whole truck load of chemical defoliant...
