Imagine a High Street from Marvel mouthing off then giving the LT a shot to the chops; this is equal to what Batman did to Spectre...

Doom is 2 full tiers above Bats and Spectre stands above the Mad Celestials...

Thus, what Bats did stands above what Doom did...

He neutered Lobo, basically tricked him into being his personal slave, and beat him down in his most humiliating defeat since Hitman. Constantine is a good call, though if our yardstick is the Batman/Spectre encounter, it's going to be hard to top simply because of the power disparity. But there are several others with similar tendencies to stare down superior powers and call them out on their sh*t.

So Constantine is good. And Doom. The Doctor (Who) as well. He's stared down sentient suns, universal reality warpers, and entire pantheons with nothing but his wits and sonic screwdriver. Obviously he's a prep god, but removed from his TARDIS his base is probably low meta at best (if we grant him some of the screwdriver's more obscure feats and powers).

in the new world order storyline of JLA when Bats takes on 4 or 5 white martians alone after deducing their identity and weakness.

No one is more ballsy than Batman/Superman/Captain America, because they're so far removed from anything that's realistic and human. They could stop multiversal explosion by willpower alone, just "because". So their "ballsiness" doesn't mean anything, it's not worth a damn.

Those jokers aside, Constantine is relatable and (at least pre-JLD) human-like. He has fears, moments of weakness, etc. His ballsiness means a lot more.

Constantine's probably the best pick, but that PIS is hard to overlook.

And I don't mean the fact he plays hell lords. But when he played three devils against each other to beat cancer, why did they have to let him off with perfect health? Even Lord Morpheus, probably the least imaginative god being in fiction, could punish guys he can't kill. Like, why not make Constantine a paraplegic, or make it so he can't stomach hard liquor or something?
