No prep. No BFR. Standard gear. Battle in 21st century NYC.

Scenario 2:
24 hours prep time. Basic knowledge of each other's abilities. Battle in Death Valley.

Brainiac in both. No way Panther is getting through his force fields.

Brainiac's create the toughest force fields in comics. The major Colun's are peers to some of the smartest beings in comics, period.

Its strange about the force field.
Its like the reverse of Ms. Marvel's power set.
When Rogue took Ms. M's power set, it became more respected. Before that no one really thought it was of much note.
Booster Gold has B5s FF, and is routinely trashed in debates online.
