THE SET-UP:

Trying to trace who it is that is trying to have them killed, the Dark Siders target Galen Merek at the Golden Tower casino on the planet Robine, who may know more. Reasoning that Merek probably won't respond to just a chat, the Dark Siders- albeit after a fair bit of deceptive preparation- end up doing the job the hard way, laying waste to the area both on ground and in the air, and ending up with some unexpected Bureau enemies along the way. Beaten and damaged, they have what they came for from Merek, and are now making their escape by ship. Unfortunately, something this loud attracted attention and distress calls have brought backup.

The Jedi have been walking a road tracing two simultaneous mysteries- the fate of the Scrolls of Bandomino, a truly ancient record of Sith victories last heard of during the Malphan wars millennia ago, and the efforts by Kuylen and, in particular, the Lady Adelmo to recover them far more recently, though still before this entire storyline began. On the planet Alambritis, they find a buried base left over from the Malphan wars- one slightly more active than they were expecting. They also subdue the base the hard way, leaving them even more beaten up than the Dark Siders... but their ships are unharmed. They were expecting a quiet journey home.

As it turns out, Alambritis is virtually adjacent to Robine, and the Jedi intercept the distress call almost immediately. The Dark Siders are still escaping when the Jedi arrive. Their tactical position is not good... but all they have to do is escape...

-

I'm a tad busy right now to set up the structure for this, but feel free to react, hurl insults, invite each other for coffee etc. I'll sort it out in the week.

Newjak
"Power down our ships and prepare to be boarded.." Xavier looks over to his friends with grin. "Yeah we will be right on that just let me hit the switch. Maybe we could have a drink back on Robine while we're at it. We can buy if you want just won a lot at the Casino. Hey how about you head there first and we promise to follow."

Vera21
Vera-Kin gets ready to get on the comms the minute she hears that Nume Rand, her old student, is leading this unsavory band of villains.

"Rand!" she yells over the comms. "Do as we say! Order your team to stand down!"

Jedireaper
Denzral doesn't waste time to hear any more of the conversation as soon as he realises who they are facing, he moves to the weapons console, intending to disable their ships until someone better skilled comes along.

Bespin Bart
The minute Galder's name came across the datastream, Xeth prepped and primed the Nexu's weapon systems, shouting orders to R3-U9 to put power to the engines and the quad-linked cannons.

"There's no way this is a coincidence," Xeth says to the others over the comms before they drop out of hyperspace.

Upon sighting the vessel, Xeth doesn't hesitate. He slams on the accelerator and pushes the ship hard for the Dark Jedi spacecrafts.

"Starkiller, it's been awhile," Xeth broadcasts to the Dark Jedi, trying to decide which ship belongs to the deadly swordsman.

Brit
Jelena certainly does not want these Dark Jedi to escape after the chaos and death they just spread on Robine, let alone the other treacherous acts they have likely committed in the past.

"Strap yourself in, Essallin," Jelena says to her Padawan. She checks her own restraints then grips the controls tightly, ready to engage.

After Sunda sends out his initial call, Jelena echoes it. "Repeat, power down! We Jedi Knights demand your immediate surrender and are authorized to use force. We will shoot you down!"

Jelena, possessing the nimbler ship, decides to chase down the light fighter piloted by one of the Dark Jedi.

"Concentrate your fire on the heavier craft, gentlemen," Jelena calls over to her compatriots. "I'll handle the small one."

Rio Rio
Rast simply holds tight, strapping himself in on Xeth's ship.

"You know these people?" Rast asks, amused.

REXXXX
"NO..." Galder hisses when he sees the Nexu's Grin and realizes what is going on. "No, the Jedi! What are they doing here?!"

Galder strongly resists his urge to turn the Paladin about and start an attack run on the Jedi starships, knowing that the state his fighter is in, it wouldn't go well. He definitely does not power down anything.

"I highly doubt you actually want to board us, boy," Galder broadcasts back to the overeager young man who sent the original message. "But you're welcome to try!"

General Zink
"Master Vera..." Rand hisses. "Have you not retired by now? We will be powering down our vessels, I am afraid. We achieved our goal and we are done here, and you will not stop us any more than the Bureau did. I have faced far worse enemies than the likes of you, my old master."

Craft
Wentar expertly brings The Free Flier around in pursuit after they drop out of hyperspace, shifting power to the engines and releasing the locks on the weapon controls for Denzral as the chase begins.

"So this is the crew I have heard so much about," Wentar says to Vera. "What could they have possibly wanted with Robine?"

Vera21
"If we catch them, we find out," Vera-Kin says firmly. "Denzral, Wentar, prepare to open fire."

Then Vera responds to Rand: "Last warning, Nume. Your ships sustained damage, and we outnumber you."

"We do not accept the authority of your morally bankrupt Order, Jedi!" - Responds Gallador after regaining his composure. The damm Jedi here.....

"We have certain information that you may be interested it.... do you know that Bureau Agent engaged on Robine is a very notorious Darksider, now working for Bureau?"

Ushgarak
Well that's odd, Gallador- your comms aren't getting through.

In fact, it seems there is some broad comms interference going on; no-one can hear anything. Still, the Jedi know the targets received the 'surrender' message, so you have legitimate targets here.

Boo, you just destroyed my attempts to play mind games....

Ushgarak
Btw, whilst I am not setting up quite yet, I'm not sure how I managed to give Xavier's ship 100 more armour merely one turn after the atmosphere fight started, but take 100 away from it. Which means that ground fire blew the heck out of it, which is actually kinda where we were meant to be with a ship that ungainly in atmosphere having to sit still whilst being shot at.

Tell you what, as it was my mistake, we'll only take away 90 armour from it.

Well you shouldn't be diabolically jamming their comms, should you? Typical Dark Side ploy- probably trying to confuse the Bureau's tracking technology.

(Ush said you need Pilot or Heavy Weapons to use a turret)

Ushgarak
I'll get the ship stats etc posted up during the week, but here's an overview of the rules:

- Each ship gains Distance each round. You gain distance equal to your ship's Thrust rating plus your successes on a Pilot roll. Distance has the following effects:

1. At a certain distance, the gravity well has been cleared and a Dark Side ship may escape.

2. If attacking a target with a Distance value greater than your own, you lose dice from your dice pool equal to the difference.

3. Turrets may not fire on someone with a Distance value greater than your own.

- Shooting damage is on a 1-1 basis from successes on your roll.

- Each round, each Light Side pilot must declare which target they are trying to shoot at this turn. Your targets are not in a convenient pack so turrets may only fire at the same target.

- If firing at a target with a higher Manoeuvre rating than your own, you lose 2 from your skill pool for that attack. When Light Side turret users fire on an enemy ship, they simply subtract the target's Manoeuvre rating from their pool regardless of the rating of their own ship.

- You lose an additional die from your pool if firing at a target with Jinks Master (this applies evenly to all sorts of firing and targets)

- Dark Side turret users may fire back but their target must be one of their attackers, and it will be randomly determined if there is more than one. Dark Side turret users subtract the Manoeuvre rating of their own ship from their attack pool because the pilot is moving all over the place trying not to get hit.

- Each round, each Dark Side pilot may declare they are going flat out, which means they stop manoeuvring and just bomb it. This increases their Thrust rating by 1 for a turn but reduces their manoeuvrability to 0. This therefore allows turret gunners to fire without penalty. (Light Siders could in theory go flat out but it precludes them from firing so it won't be much use)

- Alternatively, a Dark Side pilot may declare they are Flying Evasively. This reduces their Thrust rating by 1 for the turn but also allows them a Pilot roll. The number of successes on that Pilot roll cancels successful hits made against them on a 1-1 basis that turn.

- All declarations are made before the turn updates, so feel free to declare now, though I will post up a turn 0 later in the week.

Newjak
Are we supposed to post our actions in our separate threads or in here?

REXXXX
Hmm, most of the Jedi will have trouble hitting Azarl and myself due to our higher Maneuverability. That's reassuring.

Gallador gunning for Xavier will definitely help keep the Jedi from catching him immediately.

Anyway, as Rand can't operate the light turret on Galder's ship, he will fly evasively and avoid any incoming fire from Jedi starships targeting him.

Ushgarak
Well indeed- in a chase, nippier ships are better.

Post it all in here.

Ushgarak
Oh btw! Something for the Dark Siders to think about- if you clear the gravity well... where are you actually going to go?

Lord Melkor

Should we really discuss it in same thread Jedi use?

In that case Xavier is going Flat Out Balls to the Wall!!!

"Well if I thought I could throw my lightsaber that far I would open an airlock and try it!" Andro retorts. Not being able to put himself in the middle of a fight has always been a source of frustration, the few times it has happened. "Besides, how hard can it be? Point it at the other ship and hold the firing stud down. I'd have to hit something eventually."

You don't have to, no- though it doesn't actually make a difference to do it open; either they track you or they don't and they'll follow you in the first case regardless.

HereticalDruid
Azarl will fly evasively, counting on his maneuverability to save him some trouble as he pushes for the edge of the gravity well.

Bespin Bart
Xeth will target the Paladin (Galder's ship), deeming it heavily armed and very much the Dark Jedi's style. He locks on and opens fire, intending to wreck the ship and strand Galder in space.

(And I have Daredevil so the Nexu's Grin's Maneuverability matches Galder's Paladin, so hah!)

Brit
Jelena will target the light fighter in the Dark Side squad and try to knock out its power supply with precise shots.

(Sorry not sorry Azarl)

Ushgarak
Just to clarify- you don't have to choose between Flat Out or Evasive, as they both have their penalties. You can just fly normally.

Newjak

But yes Xavier is still going Flat Out.

Xavier will also blow one of his remaining Force Points on Guidance if it nets an extra success on trying to get away stick out tongue

Lord Melkor
Gallador will shoot Xavier's turret at the ship pursuing them, trying to focus while considering the long-term situation in light of current information...

Jedireaper
Denzral will target the larger, or more damaged of the Dark Side ships for now, which ever is easier.

REXXXX
"Any of them going for me?" Galder asks Rand to confirm the necessity of his evasive maneuvering.

Craft
Wentar will bring The Free Flier to bear against the largest of the Dark Jedi's ships, having faith that his ship will be able to outpace it.

Tptmanno1
Do we have to declare actions before Turn 0?
I was going to wait to see what the situation looked like before declaring.

REXXXX
I think Ush said we didn't have to, but could if we wanted to.

Ushgarak
Sorry for the delay. Here's the starting gumf. I'll try and get on daily.

Good as the Jedi were, the Dark Siders get a one turn head start as the Jedi did have to turn around.

-----

ORBITAL CHASE- Start of turn 0

Light Side

Nexu's Grin: 80 P: 8 T: 3+1 M: 3 Distance: 0 (Jinker)

The Roan-ma-tron: 100 P: 8 T: 4 M: 2 Distance: 0

Sunlit Dancer: 40 P: 8 T: 4 M: 6 Distance: 0

The Free Flier: 100 P: 8 T: 4 M: 2 Distance: 0

Dark Side

The New Beginning: 31 P: 6 T: 4 M: 2 Distance: 4

Paladin: 22 P: 7+1 T: 3 M: 5 Distance: 3

Spearhead: 19 P: 6 T: 4 M: 6 Distance: 4

-----

None of the Dark Siders tried to floor it so they don't get an extra turn head start. Nor do they take double damage because their shields were weak though.

REXXXX
With the Nexu's Grin gunning for him, Galder flies evasively, unsurprised that the old bug goes after him.

"Let's see if I'm better at this too," Galder mutters as he jostles his controls to avoid incoming blasts.

Newjak
My action will stay the same.

Craft
Not to be picky but Wentar should be getting a +1 to his pilot due to Favourite Ride and flying The Free Flier.

Newjak
Also Ush as much as it pains me to say it I think you have my pilot pool listed one higher than it should be sad

Lord Melkor
Gallador will shoot the turret at whoever is attacking Xavier's ship, as I mentioned.

Tptmanno1
Just to clarify a bit.
If I attack the Spearhead. I lose 4 die for the distance and then 2 die for the Maneuverability ranking, leaving me at 2 die. Correct?
Are successes counted as 4 or above or 5 or above?
Does 1-1 mean one success = 1 damage? or if I roll a 5, I do 5 damage?

REXXXX
I think that means that every success rolled gives you 1 damage.

Ushgarak

It's all 1-1 per success. You're not blowing these guys apart in one go.

You shoot after the chase rolls have been made so the distance may be greater or lesser. Also, their manoeuvre is 0 if they go flat out.

REXXXX
Small note - Galder's ship's ratings should be T 4 M 4, as he is in a heavy fighter.

Brit
Jelena will actually fly flat out this turn and try to close the gap between herself at the Spearhead so she can shoot better.

Bespin Bart
I should be at Maneuver +1, but Xeth's firing on Galder regardless!

HereticalDruid

Jedireaper
"Would you prefer I fire on them then?" Denzral asked Wentar indicating The New Beginning.

Craft

Point it at the other ship and hold the firing stud down. I'd have to hit something eventually."

Gallagher laughs.

"Somehow I think we'd end up shooting a hole in the side of Roan's ship if we tried to do it ourselves," Gallagher jokes, strapping himself in. "Do you feel ready to fight them, if we stop their escape? Yours and my own history with confronting the Dark Side has not gone well, so far..."

Jazzman_78
"Oh, yes. I am ready." Andro nods solemnly. "And don't worry about the past; this time we'll get it right."

Alkaselzer
Gallagher gives a solemn nod in return, then reaches for his belt and unclips his lightsaber. He admires the pale gray cylinder, its slanted emitter, its bulb-shaped high-hand grip, and hands it over to Andro.

"We've been through much together, Andro," Gallagher says. "I want to exchange lightsabers, as a gesture of trust and comradery, and as a commitment to learn from each other. Will you do this?"

Rio Rio
Ush- Can Rast use his technical skills to help Xeth in any way? I know he already has an R3 unit for such things, but Rast feels rather useless sitting in the ship.

Otherwise, Rast certainly makes sure his rifle and his lightsaber stand ready.

Jazzman_78
Andro is taken aback by Gallagher's unexpected request. He instinctually is reluctant to hand over his weapon, even to exchange it for another. As a fighter, his life has depended on and revolved around the plain metal weapon he has carried since he was a boy. But viewing himself, and conducting himself, simply as a fighter has plagued him and his comrades lately, and has always hindered the growth of his other skills.
He realizes his friend's intent, and his message, and knows it is a request he should not reject. As a Jedi, if Andro is to carry through on his vow to prove himself more than just a weapon, perhaps this symbolic trade is the next step.

"We have been through some incredible situations in the time we've know each other. You have taught me quite a bit, whether it shows or not." He reaches down, unclips his lightsaber, and hands it to Gallagher. Possibly one of the hardest things he's ever done. Progress, perhaps. "You are my friend, and I do trust you. May this blade keep you, and those whom you defend, safe."

Newjak
(Aw look at all the good feelings and love being shared cry )

Xavier all of sudden is filled with feelings of hope, friendship, and caring. He speaks to Eller, Relle, and Gallador, "You guys have been the closest things to friends I have had in awhile. It looks like we are in a bit of a jam. It's going to be rough and I don't know what is going to happen. So I just wanted to say... to express that... well did we remember to turn off the oven before leaving the base?"

Ushgarak
Right, et's get this show on the road.

I'm afraid non-fliers are pretty much out of luck for this one, though I shall try and make it a quick as possible.

ANH Trench Run music I think!

Each of the Jedi, of course, has their own targeting computer set-up. Feel free to describe it. 70s-style graphics are entirely acceptable.

And so we are off! It's all fairly even rolling for the initial chase- even Xavier lands a bunch of successes to stop a first turn humiliation (I should note, of course, that the attacking Jedi can't overtake their targets, as that's. unhelpful. Xavier flew well enough that none of you had to break, though).

The exception is Xeth- he must have had the least helpful hyperspace exit and has had issues getting his engines up to full speed in the right direction.

Hits scored:

Nexu's Grin- 1 on Paladin- impressive at that range

Spirit- 1 on New Beginning

The Free Flier- 2 on New Beginning

Sunlit Dancer did not fire

New Beginning Turret Fire- 2 hits, which I shall split between the attackers.

Can the Dark Siders keep up their rolling to maintain their distance edge?

Ushgarak
Rast- based on Andro's suggestion, you're trying to see if you can get through that comms blockage. Problem is, you can't even work out which enemy ship the disruption is coming from.

REXXXX
With Rand and his sensors both reporting that the Nexu's Grin failed to keep pace, Galder routes power to the engines and flies straight to keep that distance up.

Newjak
Xavier's turn will be the same as the last one!!!

HereticalDruid
My Pilot pool should be 6 I think.

Azarl keeps flying flat out, whether the Sunlit Dancer chooses to open fire or not.

b1plusb2
Relle hangs tight as Xavier's ship rocks with the opening volleys of the Jedi.

"I hope you know what you're doing..." Relle says, not overly confident in the Dark Jedi piloting the craft.

Newjak
"I like to think I have a vague idea of what I'm doing. Besides I know we need to keep pace or we will be over taken<" Xavier pauses for a second. "You could give it a try"

b1plusb2
"Ask me next time," Relle says, having already decided she should probably learn how to fly one of these things, and better than Xavier.

Newjak
"Okay will do if you want after this I can teach you to fly," Xavier says knowing he is also going to make himself a better pilot and still better than Relle. stick out tongue

Tptmanno1
I will continue the chase and take the shots at New Beginning.

Lord Melkor
Gallador continues firing at the ships targetting New Beginning, keeping his focus. He ignores the pointless, typical bickering from his foolish, yet useful, companions.

"Interesting, something is jamming our communication... Bureau cannot, we distrupted their communication... Adelmo perhaps.... or..." He does not finish, returning to firing the turret.

"Any predictions, Eller?" He asks after next series of shots fire.

Brit
Satisfied that she kept decent pace with the Spearhead, Jelena watches the spear-shaped craft wave in and out of her targeting reticule. A combination of her senses and her training in fighter combat, Jelena opens fire in the split second the computer locks on.

Can Rast work on determining which ship it is? He gets to working on the comms relay in Xeth's ship.

Bespin Bart
Xeth, with frustration, shouts back to R3.

"Get the power up in the engines!" Xeth says. "I need the speed or we'll lose 'em!"

Xeth then returns to his haphazard cannon bursts, trying to wear down what remains of Galder's shields.

Craft
Wentar nods in approval as his shots glance The New Beginning's shields. He refines the settings on his targeting computer to improve the accuracy of the next volley and makes a note of The Spirit of Corellia's position, not wanting to accidentally get in the way of his ally as he continues the pursuit.

--

Gonna keep chugging after that heavy darkie ship at taking shots at it.

Ush can the Jedi switch targets at all if we feel the need to? Will it affect how we perform at all?

Ushgarak
I'll probably penalise you a point of distance for changing targets.

Jedireaper
Denzral in the (Free Flier's?) turret (or at least controlling on of them) will check his vector graphic targeting and try to knock out the engines of the New Beginning, or at least bring down it's deflector shields.

Ushgarak
Xeth gets back in gear but Galder's keeping oin the power. Star turn this round is from the Free Flier, which makes good use of the gravity well almost to chase down its target entirely.

Hits scored:

Nexu's Grin- out of range on Paladin

That rear deflector is giivng way, Xavier...

Ushgarak
Rast- you see the problem. It's not coming from the ships at all- the jamming is coming from the planet. Something the Dark Siders set up, you guess, to interfere with tracking attempts.

Newjak
Xavier mumbles some non civil language under his breath as the pursuer has gotten closer than he would like.

These guys are good Xavier, way better than you

"Thanks for telling me something I already know." Xavier begins hitting various switches and buttons while looking at his navigational instruments. He hopes the deflector shields hold up.

He yells back to everyone else, "Brace yourselves things are about to get rocky." He pauses for a moment before adding, "er that is."

Xavier comes out of Full Thrust and begins taking evasive actions.

Ush how much further do we need to reach to get out of the gravity well?

Lord Melkor

Gallador will continue shooting the turret, not much else to do....

Tptmanno1
Hopefully I'll have better luck this turn.

Seeing the Free Flyer slingshot into place, Roan grips the control stick and moves to bring the Spirit along as well, continuing to fire on the New Beginning.

Lord Melkor
"You can do it Xavier, focus on your emotions, the Force is with you, we have not made it so far to fall here..." "Use your anger to focus..."

Gallador will continue shooting the turret after encouraging Xavier.

(Sorry, I was posting in hurry and made incomplete earlier post).

REXXXX
Hmm... though ahead of the New Beginning, anything Galder can do to disrupt the Free Flyer's efforts to obliterate the larger ship? Galder isn't worried about the Nexu's Grin at this point. Perhaps slam on his brakes and swerve in the way and force the Jedi ship off it's flight path?

Craft
(Wentar is making his template so proud right now!)

The renegade's natural piloting skill becomes evident as Wentar's maneuver quickly closes the gap between him and his target. He doesn't give the Dark Jedi's returning shots a second thought, The Free Flier has suffered far worse punishment in the past and he is certain the shields will hold.

--

What happens if The Free Flier overtakes The New Beginning?

Newjak
IF that happens it will be The New Beginning's turn to start firing on you MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Craft
Haha! Feel free, just means you'll be less focused on escaping. stick out tongue

Bespin Bart
When R3 and his targeting systems both confirm that Galder's starfighter has left his range, Xeth decides to route full power to the engines momentarily to get back into the chase.

Fly Flat Out, I need to catch up.

Azarl keeps his feet pressed against the accelerator pedal in his rusty pirate stuntfighter, hoping that the craft's shields don't go.

Flat Out.

Jelena notes Wentar's progress with a nod of approval before continuing a steady stream of accurate fire on the Spearhead. She knows the vessel cannot withstand much more than her own ship, based on its size and her scanners, and intends to shoot out its engines before it leaves the gravity well.

Ushgarak
Galder's still keeping it clear. The Pilot rolls are definitely going his way.

Free Flier continues it's amazing run, but it's mostly wasted as it catches up with its target. You don't actually go ahead of it, but it means your turrets can now fire on the target. Who's shooting for you, Andro? I've lost track. I see Denz says he is above- is that right?

Hits scored:

Nexu's Grin- no shot on on Paladin

Spirit- 2 potential hits evaded by New Beginning

The Free Flier- 1 hit evaded, 2 scored on New Beginning

Galder- You could in theory come and interfere with another chase, but it would cost you Distance.

REXXXX
Galder scoffs at the Jedi efforts to catch his vessel, and will continue laying on the speed.

"They won't catch us," Galder says over his shoulder to Rand, who probably appreciates the smoother flying as the Paladin races for the edge of the gravity well.

Bespin Bart
Xeth will change targets, seeing as Galder has too great a lead for Xeth to catch him. He locks on in the closest of the Dark Side ships, the bulky freighter New Beginning, and starts spitting lasers into its rear deflectors with Roan, while Wentar chases it down.

Brit
Jelena clenches her jaw in irritation as the Spearhead starts to pull away from her, trying to keep up while focusing on her precise shooting.

"Come on..."

Newjak
Xavier watches his scanners as one of the blimps break off from The Paladin and get in behind him.

"You've got to be screwing with me!" Xavier says while glaring at the instruments.

Xavier closes his eyes to take a few deeps breaths. In his mind he gets in an escape pod and blasts away to safety. He lands on a pleasure planet with many beautiful women. He finds a resort that he takes over and spends the rest of his life sitting on the beach drinking cocktails out of designer cups with tiny umbrellas!

A quick blast rattles him back to the present. He whispers under his breath, "One of these days people will stop ruining my calm, tranquilness."

Xavier continues evasive maneuvers while the three mean and unfair Jedi continue on his tail. Spend a force point if he has any on Guidance to avoid damage if he can.

Also could he maybe open the trash bay to jettison some debris right in the face of the Free Flier!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! evil face

Jazzman_78
(If no one else is, Andro will hop in a turret and give it his best... shot.)

Craft
I think you meant Wentar Ush, since he's the pilot of The Free Flier. Denzral is shooting the turret for me, since my other passenger is Vera and she has no pilot or heavy weapons skill.

---

Wentar smiles with satisfaction as he catches up with his target, he adjusts his speed to match that of The New Beginning's and shifts any spare power to the weapons.

"Open fire Denzral, you should have a clear shot now."

Tptmanno1
Man, I am rolling terribly.
Lets try again.

Annoyed that all of his shots are going wide, Roan takes a breath and calms himself from the chaos of the chase. He focuses in on his purpose, bringing the dangerous criminals to justice, and fires once more upon the New Beginning.

Ushgarak
Sorry for the name mix-up! Senility setting in...

Xeth will lose some distance there as he switches.

To Xavier's credit, he manages to keep up his pace this turn, so he doesn't become double-overhauled. This also means he might have ruled Xeth out the chase, as his target switch combined with Xavier powering ahead leaves Xeth out of position.

Dancer is slowly closing on its target...

Galder watches as the New Beginning takes repeated hits, its shields flaring brightly even against the golden glow of Robine's atmosphere. Realizing he could get away without any further damage to his ship or pride, Galder also realizes that he still needs these people, even if they're horribly inept at most things.

Galder slows his fighter, intending to let the Free Flier pass him, so that he can open fire on the well-handled Jedi ship, and take some heat off of Xavier.

Brit
Jelena allows herself a small grin as she gains on the Spearhead.

"The Force is with us..." Jelena says, spitting another volley at the small escaping craft.

Bespin Bart
Xeth will bang on his console in frustration and try to fly flat out to catch up.

HereticalDruid
With the Jedi gaining on him, Azarl tries some evasive action to avoid incoming fire.

Lord Melkor
Gallador continues to fire the turret.

"We need to get more distance, Xavier, we are getting hit! Are you so useless that you cannot escape few Jedi on your own ship!? We survived so much just to fall here?! Use your anger!"

Newjak
Perhaps it is time to toss the space elf out the air lock!!!!!!!

"Shut up Gallador! Just shut up! I've saved your life multiple times since I've got here. I shall do it again just you watch! Now keep them off me!"

Xavier continues to fly Evasively.

Tptmanno1
I will continue to fire on the New Beginning.

Craft
Wentar continues to match speed with The New Beginning. He keeps his fire concentrated, hoping to breech the shields and knock out the engines.

Ushgarak
Ok it takes Galder a turn to shift over on the battlefield- however, please note that if you engage a target, I will allow them retroactively to engage you back and that means you will make no distance at all that round.

No luck for Xavier on evasion this turn and now the sharks are closing in...

While he cannot hope to bring down the Jedi ship, Galder seeks to gain Xavier a reprieve by putting the Free Flier in his sights, locking on, and firing one of the Paladin's proton torpedoes.

Newjak
Xavier continues his desperate attempt to dodge all incoming fire.

Tptmanno1
Seeing an opening to do some real damage, Roan refocuses and attacks the new beginning, looking to disable the engines.

Ushgarak
Just need the reaction from the Free Flier!

Brit
Jelena keeps up her attack on the Spearhead, timing her bursts so that the Dark Jedi flies into her shots when he attempts evasive maneuvers.

Jedireaper
Denzral will continue firing the turret at Wentars Target and wishing that he had his fighter right now.

Craft
Sorry for the delay!

Assuming Wentar is able to react to Galder's action he will perform an evasive action this turn. Otherwise I will just continue the attack on The New Beginning.

Ushgarak
Ok then, so Galder engages Free Flier, who evades his shot but as he is niot attacking back, it means those two ships stay in the overall chase situation, which would have left Galder a little behind, but everyone is limited by how far New Beginning as anyway.

Nexu's Grin- did not fire at New Beginning

Good job Galder! That's right we'll win because Darksiders always have each other's backs...wait that doesn't sound right hmm

Anyways Xavier continues to Evade as much as possible until they can break free from this planet into Hyperspace.

REXXXX
Galder expected talent from the Jedi piloting the bulky vessel, but he did not expect a full evasion. Galder tries to put a lock on once more and keeps firing at the Free Flier, hoping to give Xavier enough of a lead.

Craft
Not wanting to let the more maneuverable Dark Sider distract him for much longer Wentar resumes his attack on The New Beginning, trusting in The Free Flier's shields to hold out against the Paladin's next volley.

Tptmanno1
Attack the Free Flyer again!

Ushgarak
Say what now?!

Newjak
You heard them Ush!

Craft
Roan is sticking with the game plan he came up with in the Jedi thread I see. He won't rest until us Renegades are extinct. *sobs*

REXXXX
I corrupted Roan some time ago and my plan has finally come to fruition.

Tptmanno1
New Beginning, whatever. Note to self: Don't RP before Coffee.

Bespin Bart
With the Dark Jedi still out of range, Xeth continues pushing the engines of the Nexu's Grin to their limit, trying to catch up to what could quickly devolve into a dogfight should his colleague Wentar choose to engage the ever-dangerous Galder.

"R3, try to get me comms back," Xeth says to his astromech unit, hoping that the technical programming in the little bucket of bolts can break through the interference.

Rast- you see the problem. It's not coming from the ships at all- the jamming is coming from the planet. Something the Dark Siders set up, you guess, to interfere with tracking attempts.

I see. Since Xeth keeps playing catch up, could Rast and R3 work together on breaking through the interference? Obviously we can't go back to the planet and shut it off if we want to catch our fugitives.

Brit
Jelena keeps on firing at Spearhead!

Vera21
"Denzral, focus your fire on the attacking ship!" Vera-Kin shouts to the Jedi operating the turret when the Dark Jedi ship launches its torpedoes at Wentar's. She takes a tumble when Wentar takes evasive action then reclaims her seat.

General Zink
Rand clings to his seat, hoping that Galder doesn't get him killed with these antics.

REXXXX
"Don't puke on my seats," Galder yells to Rand while squeezing the firing triggers on his controls.

Lord Melkor
Gallador feels some hope in this dire situation, seeing Galder coming to the rescue. He continues shooting the turret...

Jedireaper
Can Soapy (Denz's astromech), help us in any way?

Ushgarak
Roan's time to shine this turn as he gets a stellar attack in, even as Xavier tries to dodge- and Andro is hardly inaccurate either, and with both ships cross-firing on the target, the shields give out and bits start blowing off of it.

Xavier, your rear bulkheads have collapsed; there are multiple fires inside the ship and only by the grace of the Force is main power still holding. However...

The gravity well clearance point is 50!

At this point I will need to know what the Jedi intend to do. New Beginning is virtually yours to destroy but you may want to consider other options.

At the same time, I need the Dark Siders' final answer on where they are actually going.

REXXXX
Can we agree on Hoth as a rendezvous?

Sure let's do that. You know as long as the Jedi don't blow us to kingdom come!

Is Kingdom Come near Hoth?

Is the jamming still up or can we broadcast to the New Beginning?

Regardless, I will open a channel, broadcasting in the clear.

"Surrender Immediately. You have no other options. Power down your engines. Any further action and we will not hesitate to destroy you. This is your only option."

Ushgarak
No comms I am afraid.
