nah its finn. hes one of the earliest character we see. and hes normal

You know a movie can have two main characters, right? RLM was poiting out that TPM had no clear main character, and AotC seemed to have two that barely interacted with each other (and one of them, Anakin, was practically evil anyway). Three, if you wanna count Padme for some reason.

TFA has two. Finn and Rey.

RLM is clear it is best when it is 1 main character, the protagonist.

finn's the most normal so i say its him.

What are you some sort of fanatic? "RLM is clear?" They're not a religious order preaching the One Truth, they're a comedy website.

You can have two main characters. Look at the Lethal Weapons series with Riggs and Murtagh. Or Bill and Ted. Or the Blues Brothers. And that's just from quickly scanning my library.

It's typical to have one main character, but by no means sacred scripture. Some films don't have any main characters, but they still work. Depends on the screenplay, story, director, genre, etc.

Jesus, stop being so rigid.

did you watch the review? every example he gives neo peter parker sarah connors, is 1 protagonist who we follow.

tfa its finn

Lord Lucien
Yeah, it's typical, I said, but not mandatory. If you frame your film to have one main character, it can work. If you frame to have two, it can work. If you frame like it's supposed to have a main character, and then you forget to establish one altogether... then you've got a problem. And that was TPM's problem.

Stop thinking it's an absolute necessity all the freaking time to have only one. Two can work if it's done right, and TFA did it right.

RLM is not gospel. Movies can and do have multiple protagonists. They were simply pointing out that the prequels were spread too thin in that aspect. They tried to focus on too many characters.

ok like an x-men movie lol

Well, actually Murtaugh is the one and only protagonist in that movie. wink
