Then Superman throws the Moon at Constantine.

So what I gather is Superman was actually able to momentarily put his hands on Constantine before the whole magic protection kicked in.

Can't imagine why in this scenario he wouldn't use that split second to just KO him in a single hit?

DarkSaint85
Because that was a SIMPLE protection spell. With minimal prep (although, he is 'always prepared').

With a day's specific prep? Do you really want to bet against what Con John can whip up in that time?

Surtur
I don't want to bet or assume. We'd need feats on what he can do. Can he set up potent auto shields? Or shields to withstand a speedblitz?

I'm also curious what his prep actually consists of. Does he just have his own hideout with a bunch of magical shit? Would he have to go out into the world and do research, or does he have access to all this powerful magic and it is 100% his?

In other words: if you give Batman prep he should only get his stuff, so the batcave would be in but the JLA watchtower should be out. What can Constantine do on his own that doesn't involve seeking out help from magical beings or going to locate powerful artifacts?

He could. He has gone up against the Spectre, Phantom Stranger et al before.

He has the House of Mystery:

With detailed files on every meta:

Time also has no meaning there, so in effect he can have unlimited prep time It also contains all his magical items. It exists outside of time and space, so is completely out of the normal dimensions:

He can cast spells so vivid, they fooled Multiversal Darkseid:

All 18 divine senses, or whatever the hell that means. This was done with zero prep, btw - completely on the fly. No magical items, either.

He can freeze people in time:

Hypnotism? A small scale trick, tbh:

And the turnabout spell:

Imagine if, after a day, Superman goes in with a speedblitz - and destroys Constantine. No chance for John to even utter a spell, twitch an eyebrow, nothing.

And that turns out to be a copy of John, made up to fool even Superman's senses.

But the turnabout spell has been cast on Supes! So any damage he has inflicted on John, will be turned back on him.

I mean, John isn't going to tech up on magical artifacts and face Superman mano a mano across a brightly lit field. He cheats, he schemes, he avoids confrontations if he can help it.
