In your opinion who would you say is the best version or portrayal of Lex Luthor in the movies?

Not much to choose from.
The most complete & complex version of Lex is from the Bruce Timm Justice League animated series.

I guess Spacey if we have to choose from the movies.

Hackman by far. Live action TV has been good; John Shea was solid, and Rosenbaum had moments of greatness.
Hard to beat Clancy Brown's version from Superman/JLU though.
MF DELPH
Animated Lex, followed by Spacey Lex, then Hackman Lex, then fanfic Lex, then Lego Lex, then any other Lex that was possibly on film ahead of Eisenberg Abominataion Lex. Even if he was Alexander Luthor he sucks because Final Crisis Lex Jr. and Mazahs Lex Jr. weren't that damn sappy.
Impediment
Clancy Brown's Lex.

CPT Space Bomb
Honestly, I don't care for any of the Live action Lex Luthors. Spacey is too over the top, Hackman is too campy and Eisenberg .....well, I refuse to associate him with Lex Luthor.
I suppose if I had to choose it'd be Hackman though.

Hackman all the way.

Gene Hackman was the first, so I have some affection for my childhood Lex. Keving Spacey was pretty much doing a homage to that Lex for Superman Returns.
Michael Rosenbaum did bring some complexity to the role for Smallville.
I actually didn't hate on the casting of Jesse Eisenberg or making Lex into a young genius. But he did play him too unhinged. It only makes sense for him to act so mad after he gets exposed to the Kryptonian archives and gets access to cosmic data and threats no human has ever seen.

Gene Hackman is my favorite movie version. Cool, calm, but off at the same time. I thought Hackman's best rendition was in Superman 1 especially the uncut version where he was tried to kill his girl by feeding her to the dogs for letting Superman escape.
