Rank being in the upper Xth percentile in one trait vs. another, given the population of combatants we typically see (.ie Sirak to Luke or so). You can comment on if this changes on the higher or lower ends.

Force augmentation
Force mastery (telekinesis, etc.)
Force reserves
Force defenses
Sorcery/esoteric abilities
Technical skill
Physical strength
Form match-ups
Tactical acumen
Emotional stability
Hand to hand skills
Damage soak

Syndicate

? Tactical acumen ?

Something like this:

Force master/Force defenses/Force augmentation/Technical skill
Emotional stability
Tactical acumen
Damage soak
Physical strength
Form match-ups
Hand to hand skills

I left out sorcery and esoteric abilities as it really depends on the ability in question. Force drain, for example, would out strip all of these.

The Ellimist
Yeah I guess a lot of this is conditional so a ranking is oversimplified, but oh well.

I'd say:

Force mastery/Force defenses (if the former is really good you can just end the fight from a distance outright)
Force augmentation
Sorcery/esoteric abilities (of course it depends on the particular ability)
Emotional stability (more important on the fringes, less important in the middle)
Tactical acumen (variable)
Technical skill
Force reserves (probably more important in a drawn out combat)
Damage soak
Form match-ups
Physical strength
Hand to hand skills

Sorcery can be the absolute defining #1 aspect of a battle, such as Act 1 Nox vs Thanaton, or utterly useless. It depends on the ability and if any preparation/amplification is involved.

Emotional stability is more important than Sorcery. But otherwise, this, probably.

1. Force augmentation - this one's pretty obvious. It's the reason why Force Sensitives are so good, dictates their sensory skills, etc. Technical skill can't save you when the opponent has far better reflexes.

2. Force reserves / technical skill - that one's pretty obvious.

3. Force mastery / Force defenses / Form match-ups - telekinesis is usually not so relevant, and it's quite funny people tend to go by the idea "who wins the Force, wins all out". Unless advantage is really huge, you just punish the opponent with kinetical pressure, throw him around, but unless you're also very masterful in using the terrain for it, maintaining distance, capitalizing on momentary stuns (which is all about actual combat skill). It's more important if both combatants are on a level so high, they can use the Force as actual combat means (very rare), or if the disparity is way too high. Obviously it makes the rating more difficult; the relevancy of disparity in direct Force attacks goes up geometrically, not arithmetically. If the disparity is truly high, this aspect trumps everything else without a context. Now, form match-ups is the bad word to put it. Forms in themselves aren't that important... but the general "how do their traits stack up against each other" is obviously mad important. Look at the case with guys like Savage.

4. Tactical acumen / Physical strength / Emotional stability / Damage soak - depends on the case, on the matchup, on the character.

5. Hand to hand skill - incredibly irrelevant with the lightsabers.

As for sorcery, agreed with Skillz. It's the definition of a wildcard.

The Ellimist
^ so Vitiate loses?

JKBart
Nah, cause his If the disparity is truly high, this aspect trumps everything else without a context.

And Vitiate is immensely superior to everyone including second most powerful mortal Force user (FotJ Luke) smile smile

Force augmentation

Form match-ups
Tactical acumen
Emotional stability
Hand to hand skills
Damage soak

Mental aspects come first. You can't win without being careful (or smart/logical) or make the best use of your powers in a conflicted state-of-mind. Therefore:

1. Emotional stability
2. Tactical acumen

Raw power and command of the Force will make significant difference after mental aspects.

3. Force defenses
4. Sorcery/esoteric abilities
5. Force mastery (telekinesis, etc.)
6. Force augmentation

Should the fight get lengthy, your reserves and tolerance would matter more.

7. Force reserves
8. Damage soak

For the rest, they are useful according to the circumstances or your fighting preferences.
