We just had this debate not long ago, so there's no reason to get into it beyond this...
Krona was the previous keeper of the Entities. His knowledge of how to contain/control them was unprecedented. After he simply 'chained' the Entities, for example, they immediately went docile and obeyed his every whim. It's like they were trained dogs on leashes... Dogs that he trained billions of years ago to heed his commands. Not even Spectre himself was capable of making the Entities become obedient like that. He had to forcibly restrain/subdue them, so that they could be forcibly stuffed back into their Lanterns.
That knowledge is also why/how Krona was able to 'lock' the rings of every spectrum, and make them ALL 'choose' him(even after their true owners had already been located):

Ganthet, for example, certainly wasn't capable of preforming the same type of feats, despite the fact that he should have been roughly as powerful as Krona. That alone is indicative of a HUGE knowledge-differential between Krona and the other Guardians... And that uber-as-f*ck knowledge is primarily *why* he was able to so casually harness the rings/Entities (again), imo.
But like I said: there's no need to get back into this side of the debate. Obviously our stances are not going to change, and circular arguments are a bore. That said, I will agree to disagree here.
