Did Sidious have to constantly maintain a part of his focus to continuously drain Byss? If not, then how did he do so?

Probably. Or perhaps he feeds on them as-needed.

I'm sure when he wasn't, his Dark Adepts were doing so.

Can I get a quote for the Dark Side adepts draining Byss. It's relevant to a debate I'm in currently.

It seems passive. He doesn't appear to be using any sort of noticeable energy during, say, RotJ, and that's when he was simultaneously using Battle Meditation to affect the Battle of Endor - another passive application of the Force.

I thought that was retconned with Nial Declann using it? Interestingly enough, the guy was trained by the Prophets of the Darkside on Kaas, which suggest that they have knowledge of that ability themselves. Hmm....man I really wish I had those 2 Polyhedron magazines about the Prophets, I wanna make them a RT..
