How is it that you can lose your ability to wield the force by using it too much?

How do you regain it? Is it like after you run a marathon and it slowly comes back?

UCanShootMyNova
Like a normal sentient's physical energy it slowly depletes the more you use it.

It's pretty simple.

but it's not biological...

UCanShootMyNova
It is.

Its all about mind over matter. In the ROTS novelization Dooku felt his "force reservoir" running out as he fought Anakin but after a minutes introspection, he regained strength. With the right sense of mind, the force is as Palpatine says "POWER. UNLIMITED POWER"

Dooku might have been able to regain his vigor as a one off trick, but I don't know how many times he'd do it again. No one has unlimited stamina. Not even Palpatine. Obviously there is certain level of physical wear and tear that prevents the Force from properly flowing through ones body.

UCanShootMyNova
Dooku refreshed his physical body. He didn't refill his force reserves.

Because EU authors are dumb shits who don't understand how the force works.

Maybe not just force lighting, probably the force in general is what he meant.
