A pilot for a spin off of SoA has been ordered:

Interesting, though if they were going to do a spin off I would have rather seen it perhaps involve different characters. I didn't like or dislike the Mayans.

On the other hand, if the writing is as quality as it was on the original show, it will be good.

I'll give it a shot, but SOA worked because it was a character study of Jax and his conflicting loyalty to the criminal life he was born into and the civilian life he could have with his spouse. The whole gang politics thing just added entertaining conflict to the plot. IDK if I'd watch a show purely about gang politics. I hope that there are very good and poetic character arcs.

I admit I would have preferred maybe if they did a prequel with how the club began.
