Patient_Leech
Pick the best of the worst comicbook movies. I prefer the more ironically bad ones. Ones that are so bad they're good. Batman & Robin, Spawn, Judge Dredd, and Ghost Rider are favorites of mine. Blade Trinity is a good runner up.

Patient_Leech
Oops, I think I accidentally voted for Catwoman... my bad. laughing out loud

Surtur
Well so this is based on which ones are so bad they are good as opposed to which of the bad ones is just overall the best?

Since for the latter category, I'd go with Wolverine Origins. It was bearable for me. Plus it lead to an awesome videogame.

For so bad it's good it's either Catwoman or Elektra for me. The Elektra movie is just awful. But then there is also Catwoman where the villain is Sharon Stone who becomes invincible via cosmetics. But then dies from being thrown off a building or something. So not invincible. Also the hilarity of the script, like the part where Catwoman asks this one woman who is a professor and knows about the origin of her powers why nobody has recognized the women in the past who had the cat powers, and the woman goes "It's male academia". Lmao.

StiltmanFTW
TASM 2 and IM 3 should be on the list.

And it's Elektra, not Electra. There's only one Carmen, lmao.

Not if it's a "so funny it's bad" list.

Also I understand your first choice, but I truly enjoyed Iron Man 3.

Correct.

And you can choose more than one. I couldn't just pick one.

Yeah, TASM 2 is just bad. Nothing good about it.

Sorry about the spelling on Elektra. I knew that. It was just a typo, because my subconscious wanted to spell is correctly.. heh.

I'm not sure how appropriate The Phantom is for the list, because I really don't remember it too well.

Surtur
Oh trust me, the Phantom belongs here.

Quite a lot of movies that should be here but aren't, if you're going to make a list of the best of the worst. Swamp Thing, for instance, and Superman 3, any of the 70s/80s Spider-Man movies, The Shadow...

I voted for Blade 3 because I love watching it, mainly for Ryan Reynolds who might as well have been auditioning for the role of Wade Wilson during this movie.

Lord Lucien
And where's Howard the Duck?

Ridley_Prime
Yeah, needs more Superman 3 and/or 4 and, *drumroll*, BatmanVSuperman. Could also use Spider-Man 3.

I remember being entertained by the Phantom as a kid but when I see it now I'm like wtf. The Stallone Dredd was and I guess still is a guilty pleasure, along with Batman & Robin to a point just because of how stupid and silly it is. The likes of X3 did nothing short of pissing me off tho, and I don't know how I even sat through Catwoman.

A woo oo.

Last Stand is bad, but its the best movie on that list.

Catwoman is so bad that it tops my list as the worst movie I have ever seen.

Ridley_Prime
Last Stand probably had the longest lasting negative impact on the movie series it was from, far as sequels go anyway. Batman at least bounced back after B&R thanks to Nolan, while X3's badness was passed on to the solo Wolverine films (Jean in the 2nd one's case). There were prolly more mutants X3 ****ed up than characters the other films on the list butchered that I can think of too.

IDK I guess I can see why you'd think Last Stand is the best movie on the bad list, but it kinda rubbed me the worst way.

I was limited to only 10 for the purpose of the poll. And I wanted to stick with more recent stuff anyway.

BvS has no place in this thread. That was an unfunny pile of shit. It failed so hard it even failed to be entertainingly bad.

You'll get no argument from me about that.

Dr Will Hatch
Where's Batman v Superman?

Surtur
When I saw BvsS I expected to see the super hero version of "The Room" with how badly people said it was and...it was..eh. It wasn't spectacular, but this goes to show how hype can kill a movie.

Reminds me of the video game "Fable". All these new features and stuff you were supposed to have were so hyped that when the game came out without them..that is all people saw. Whereas just looking at the game based on it's own merits..it wasn't that awful.

Patient_Leech
No more discussion of BvS here! mad

There are GREAT movies to discuss in this thread!!

I was meh about The Last Stand. A lot of bad parts, but a lot of cool parts action wise. Magneto moving the golden gate bridge is just an awesome part. Then after he's done when you see the one woman in the car who is afraid of him..lock her doors, as if that will protect her from a guy who just ripped the golden gate bridge and aimed it at Alcatraz island.

Ha, that is a pretty nice touch..

I mostly remember X-Men 3 just being awful but then again I'm not really much of an X-Men fan. Beast was kind of funny. I watched the trailer again and it actually made it look half decent.

Man, I really wanna watch Judge Dredd again now... laughing out loud

I wouldn't say BvS was really hyped, but getting get what you're getting at.

It had some okay parts like that, but too many other things that it just couldn't be given a pass... Like labeling Juggernaut as a mutant when he's not actually a mutant at all.

It's on Netflix now ya know.

Surtur
I suppose I can understand their thing with the Juggernaut because they didn't really have time to explain his mystical origins so making him a mutant just saved time. I would have preferred they just not use the character at all, but yeah.

I'm glad that you had a better time with the movie, but for me, BvS was painful to watch. The internet LOVES to exaggerate the negative qualities of a given movie, but in BvS's case, I think that the revulsion to it was warranted. I thought Man of Steel was bad enough, what with its soulless depiction of Superman and how it completely missed the point of his mythos, but Dawn of Justice just took everything wrong with that movie and amped it up to eleven. It's fun to watch now from a Mystery Science Theater 3000/so bad it's good perspective, because honestly, it takes talent to create something that off the mark, but as a straight adaptation of DC characters? It's an abomination.

Some solid points being discussed here.

What I voted for and the reasons why:

- Spawn: Leech and I have discussed some positive aspects of this film vs a myriad of things that make it a bad movie, but it's one that I'll watch anytime it's on TV. This brings me to my 2nd choice...

- Batman & Robin: Schumaker has stated what he was going for in terms of all the flamboyancy and camp, it just so happened to miss the mark big-time. I'm a defender of the one good thing this movie has: possibly still the best subplot between Bruce and Alfred with the MacGregor's Syndrome arc. Belonged in a much better Batman movie. I really would like to see what Batman: Triumphant would've been like with Schumaker returning to direct, but we know how history turned out.

- The Phantom: I thought it was a great flick as a kid growing up in the 90's, and really that's what it is: a great flick for a kid growing up in the 90's. Don't believe it's aged well. I will give massive props to Billy Zane for legitimately getting so jacked that the filmmakers decided he didn't need any muscle padding in his costume. Also, this is the greatest promotional material for any movie ever:

Money in the bank again, Leech!

Kazenji
I know overall the Judge Dredd (1995) wasn't a great movie but there are some things they got right with it.

Ascendancy
Definitely Spawn and Blade: Trinity. Both are still watchable from start to finish without any real issue. The effects in Spawn minus the scenes in hell still hold up pretty well, also.

Patient_Leech
I watched Howard the Duck. After falling asleep twice I finally finished it. It's not totally crap, but mostly crap. It would have been a lot funnier if Howard (the duck) used his duck voice more often, like when he was mad because all the puns were not funny. And my God, I didn't know Tim Robbins was in it. He was awful! I'm surprised it didn't ruin his career.

This guy is a great character actor. He was awesome...

For those people who don't want to have to sit through the entire movie of Howard the Duck:

Warning: You will see ducktits less than 2 minutes into that video.

The best line in the movie is spoken by Lea Thompson's character: "This planets called Earth..I think".

You think it's the best of the worst Comic Book movies? Hm..

But seriously, it's not a part of this thread. It's not an option. It's just a turd and doesn't need anymore attention. It just needs to be forgotten and faded into obscurity.

How about a Batman movie WORTHY of attention... with Batnipples, except not on the person you want them to be on... laughing out loud

There's a hint of a nipple there, but not really...

Batman & Robin is better than BvS, or at least more enjoyable, even if for the wrong reasons... Guess it's whether you prefer over the top campiness or top of the line edgy, broody dark emo, and Batman killing constantly cuz it looks kewl.
