McGuiness outdid himself on that art. I usually don't find it very good.

I mean, we're talking about comics. Melodramatic second winds are like 1/3 of the writing. I'd have to think about it...too many to choose from, which I suppose makes this an interesting thread, but also hard to pinpoint those that are really transcendent moments. Spider-Man probably has like 7 of my top 10, though (if I ever made a full top 10, that is).

No joke. Comics kinda became a parody of themselves with stuff like this eventually. But when that issue dropped, it was momentous for reasons that went beyond feats, and imo was a huge reason for Spidey's early success. Gwen on the bridge was like another 80 issues out. That moment defined his early career.
