Does anyone know if this scan is Canon or Legends, BTW?

Deronn_solo
Yeah, it has been fact in Legends for a while now he saved Anakin through Midi manipulation.

Not sure about canon, though.

Kurk
Yeah, he took the life energy from Padme ;P

MythLord
It's from Sith Wars, IIRC, which I believe is Legends... might be wrong, tho.

Azronger
This has been a thing since 2005

samappo
Definitely correct in Legends. Even when Sidious kills Plagueis, he plays with the possibly or bringing his master back to life and killing him over and over. Clearly Sidious knew of this, because him and his master together attempted to influence the midichlorians to create a being strong in the force. Therefore he had knowledge in how to influence them, but not as much as Plagueis did though, I believe.

SunRazer
That's Legends.

I'm talking about the scan in the OP.

Rockydonovang

Freedon Nadd
What the heck is this crap?
And it is fangic.

Sinious
I like how this guy is trying to undo every OP feat that doesn't belong to Nihilus

To be honest it is a ritual(midi-chlorian manipulation)
Not to mention it has nothing to do with midi-chlorian mastery.
At best Sidious possessed only knowledge of it. He never showed any proeficiency with it IIRC.

We've got a knob here.

To know and to do-2 different things, bud. Especially in the Force-y context.

SunRazer
Catch up, please. Have you realized what the ****ing thread's about?

Freedon Nadd
Yes. Sheev being a midi-chlorian-er(in canon) or if it applies in Legends too?

SunRazer
No, about Sheev ****ing USING midi-chlorian manipulation. It says it in the title.

He doesn't just know it (which makes no sense anyway). He can use it as well.

And where does it say he used the 'midi-chlorian manipulation'?
For what we know he could have simply done what Bastilla did to Revan to keep him alive(when Malak fired in his ship)

If he truly did he wouldn't have needed clones to keep himself alive.

That was conceived well before the entire concept of midi-chlorians, never mind Palpatine's proficiency in it. And just because can use midi-chlorian manipulation doesn't mean he's capable of reversing aging or damage. As the case with Anakin shows.

And no, he didn't use Bastila's technique, which is derived from the light side. It's explicitly stated that he used the dark side to keep Vader alive.

1. So now the argument with source context is applicable for supporting Sidious' position? Good to know.
You know what midi-chlorian manipulation means?
It means you can control them and do whatever you want with them.

So Palpatine can manipulate them, but not reverse age or damaging? Then why the heck could he use that dark side power?
That's exactly the midi-chlorian manipulation's purpose(and create life)

Note: Pretty sure that if Palpatine was able to manipulate the midi-chlorians. Sources would have already stated that(especially those who kept updating themselves)

2. Gotcha. Well in this particular line it says, "Use the Force(...)" So it is clearly not only related to dark side practitioners.
As about Bastilla's case; is anywhere stated she used a light side power instead of a neutral one?
