Up until the Crisis, Mr. Miracle was on Superman and Barda's level physically. In fact, he defeated Barda in a h2h fight (Although Barda wasn't in her right mind.)

Obviously, he's been depowered to Spidey level, give or take. Which kind of doesn't add up, when you consider all other New Gods are high end bricks, yet Scott isn't..

Little known facts about Iron Fist:

His fist isn't just a megaton punch. He's used it to crush a handgun to pieces. He could probably do the same to Spidey's fist.

He has several examples of defeating Luke Cage level characters and up without an Iron Fist.

Chi amping and the Iron Fist amping are often treated as different things.

The Immoral Iron Fist series established Danny actually taps into the dragons chi, as a stream taps into the ocean.

The dragons has driven off full Phoenix Force.

Yet Danny could not handle Phoenix Five Scott.

ShadowFyre
You answered your own question. The dragons ran off the phoenix, not Danny. And he can only tap into their chi.

In that same arc, Thor knocked the entire phoenix tfo with the first hit then got owned and could do no damage to p5 members. Literally makes no sense.

Same deal with Danny, if you consider he beat the dragon to gain access to that chi.

Every so often I actually get the attention of and interact with storied people.

I remember to this day Kurt Busiek surprising me by responding to a thread in which I shared an article on why Comics disappeared from newsstands and being literally very near everywhere newsprint was sold, to gradually becoming a niche item sold in specialty shops only (and now of course, the Internet where it's become or becoming big again). The author of that article made the surprising case that keeping the price of comics LOW, and thus theoretically more affordable for everyone, actually led to the decline. Reason was, from the perspective of a retailer who has limited shelf space, it made more sense to stock, say, Time or Life Magazine, which you could sell for at least a dollar a book versus Superman 132 or whatever, which gained you perhaps s quarter or so per sale, but used 4 times the space and often left you with a ton of overstock to recycle or throwaway.

Kurt also had an interesting perspective to share on why publishing rights are a big deal to Marvel and DC but not libraries.

Similarly, I actually remember getting into an argument with Jamal Igle about Supergirl and Superman. He asked me if I realized I was arguing with the artist of the then current series. I respectfully responded that I did, but that the title had also been subjected to NUMEROUS teams throughout its history and had a poor history of retaining its talent, no matter HOW good. History soon won that general point for me. Recently, the writers of the Benoist show won a 2nd.

Which is to say the staff of these companies are people not altogether TOO different from us, are sometimes gracious or simply interested enough to respond to an intriguing topic and talk with us regular folk, and, stranger things HAVE happened ...

Don't give up the faith, Riv!

... as well as the following, which features some interesting thoughts on topics we actually touched on earlier in this thread like, NightCrawler's devout Catholic faith and Wolverine's initial atheism (unfortunately, as the image you or someone else gave of that was in Photobucket, it is now gone ... Photobucket has a nasty habit of breaking all your links anytime you rearrange any of your personal folders, word to the wise), Madelyne Pryor, loyalty in marriage, and Jean Grey:

DC seems to have realized that MM having the ability to grow bigger and stronger might prove TOO Deus Ex Machina to create plausible tension in a story after awhile. Who could stand against him?

So it seems they QUIETLY began imposing limits on J'onnz.

Note that, by the time the 9th issue of that series rolled around, J'onnz was complaining about the stress of changing the proportion of his "Martian mass" for "Earth mass", whatever that means, even though J'onnz had substituted a literal skyscraper's worth just 7 issues prior.

Note that they impose no such limitations on J'onnz's green Martian counterpart, Malefic, however:

Although J'onn'z, as Fernus, performs the skyscraper trick in JLA: Trial by Fire, it's possible to argue that's not really J'onnz.

Rounding out selections for this topic, then, I'll highlight s case many people THINK they are familiar with, but actually are not.

Examine now, and notice for the first time, some of you, that J'onnz added mass to himself here as well, in the form of 3rd and 4th arms!

Some interesting hits came up on Google when I was searching for the previous entry, which I re-discovered by typing in "Skeeter", the young vampire's nickname, along with "Batman" and "Superman".

The following was the most intriguing, dealing with a very different kind of "skeeter" and a very different set of world famous comic characters and their real-life locale:

There are so many trivia gems in this entry it's hard to know where to begin.

Among other things:

* Namora served as a World War II hero alongside her cousin
* Atlantaean cities are supplemented with coral growth
* Jimmy Woo's spaceship can be used for underwater travel and is durable enough to endure a magma/lava bath
* Atlantis is hidden by a volcanic veil
* Loch Ness Monsters (plesiosaurs) survive in Marvel Comics' Atlantis!

bluewaterrider
As Marvel wisely mandated that allies must go through the formality of fighting each other whenever any major character greets another*, the Agents of Atlas and Namor dutifully follow suit ...

... whereupon we learn, happily, Namor and Namora are actually quite distant as far as cousins go. Hopefully. REALLY hopefully ...

Hitman was never called that in his own series. He called himself that, in his debut from Bloodlines, but every other time he was Tommy Monaghan.

Ennis also seriously downplayed his X-ray vision powers, until he phased it out completely. Really, the powers were pointless, the way Ennis wrote him.

The mutant eyes did make for a memorable moment when Noonan died, and he couldn't cry any tears for him.

After serving a stint in Korea, he was later assigned to Camp Washington where he had been promoted to the rank of Major. In the early 1960s, he met Captain Adeline Kane who was tasked with training young soldiers in new fighting techniques in anticipation of brewing troubles taking place in Vietnam.

So he served in the Korean war at 16. That jibes with him being in his ate 40s during Judas Contract.

Genuinely asking where you get this. I've read almost all of MISTER MIRACLE under Kirby and Scott didn't show anything like that during those comics. He arguably was stronger and faster than human, but not clearly. Have the Barda fight or reference? I have not seen that.

I remember a while back I was in an argument over something in JLA/AVENGERS (actually no, not Superman vs Thor laughing ) and went to Busiek's site and emailed him through it. To my surprise he gave a quick response (like about 10 minutes). I know he at least used to be active on message boards(I do believe the DC boards when they were around, and I've seen him on other boards but not sure if it was verified to be him or not, but at least once mods at least believed, so maybe), so he doesn't really have issues with interacting with fans.

It gives the home page, I think it's possible that has more views than the forum. It could be the site has such negative reviews because it hasn't updated in over 6 years.

From what I recall, the issue was from when he faced his death, putting his brain(and maybe other organs) into his arm, cutting it off his body, and leaving it to crash in a ship so his brother thought he was successful. He gathered Earth mass to REPLACE what he lost in his body, and it was adjusting, trying to turn it to Martian. So different than him taking mass for a temporary increase in size. He was also unable to use some of his powers while this adjustment happened.
