Who cares Wally West's old girlfriend Francis Kane ( had the hero name Magenta) was a much more powerful magnetically powered character than Dr Polaris. IIRC he used a magnetic field to affect her brain so he could trick her into doing what he couldn't because he lacked the power. When she came out of his trance she dropped him in the blip of a second.
