Just cause Darkseid is stronger in terms of powers, that doesn't mean Thanos is weak. By far! Thanos has accomplish far more than Darkseid, and with less powers! As i said before, with prep time Thanos would win!

No! Thanos is smarter and a better war strategist than Darkseid. With prep time, Darkseid loses. The comics speak for themselves! Thanos has done far better in his universe than Darkseid.

Am not saying Darkseid is a fool, he is very smart! Only that Thanos is smarter. He is also a genius combatant and military expert, with countless years of Experiences, and most importantly he has won his quests. He assembled the Infinity Gaunlet! He got the Heart of the Universe! Besides he has defeated beings far powerful than Darkseid, like Eternity and Galactus. So, again with prep time Thanos wins, in sheer combat Darkseid wins cause he is more powerful.

When Thanos grabbed the Heart of the Universe, he was practically GOD! He killed everything! In the end there was only him! And funny fact...he wasn't stopped, he just (in my eyes became good) and brought back everything! He basically gave up and fixed everything.

High end cosmic stuff is everyday tools for New Gods.

See Metron's chair. The thing can do pretty anything, go anywhere in time and space, protect a mere DNAlien Doubblex from Warworld amped Brainiac, and more.. Who do you think invented it?

Although Metron did build the Warlogog, which could high end reality warp with the best of them. Didn't find it, didn't assemble it.. built it.
