Mine (very tentatively, subject to change and dependent on mood/criteria):

ESB
RotJ
ANH/RotS
TLJ?
TFA/AotC
R1
TPM

The Last Jedi is one of the most polarizing ones for me in that 1) I don't know if I think its decisions are good for Star Wars as a whole yet and 2) it has a weird combination of historically good and historically bad moments.

Rogue One and TPM are kinda like that too in that they're both kinda saved by two epic scenes of which I'm sure you know.

RotJ almost gets the top spot for the Throne Room scene, but the rest wasn't as strong as ESB.

The prequels were arguably better than the Originals at world building, but I didn't weigh that over their narrative quality.

I also think every SW movie has been excellent vs. the general spread of blockbuster movies so none of them are *bad* per say.

I'm still iffy on TLJ being above RotJ. Also there is a huge gap between ANH and RotS. Seriously, ESB and ANH are significantly better than any of the other SW films.

Lord Lucien
The Ewoks slow the film's pace, but they're not garbage. Han feels like he's already checked out and is in the car waiting to go home. Leia feels like she's coming down off her high. Chewie Tarzan yells for some reason...

But the space battle and the confrontation between Luke and the Sith is just... creme de la creme of visual orgasms and characters clashing. Every other time I watch RotJ I skip straight to those scenes and watch nothing else.

ares834
I know it's sacrilege, but I don't love RotJ's space battle. It's fine I guess, but I feel it pales in comparison to the drama and intensity of ANH's trench run. The throne room sequence, on the other hand, is excellent.

Lord Lucien
Oh f*ck yeah, it's gold. There's genuine tension and a huge sense of relief. RotJ's space battle is visually sexy and super fun. It's not tense, I'm not feeling strained. I'm just enjoying the spectacle. It's a wonderfully well made spectacle.

Well I just watched ANH a few days ago and honestly I thought that while it was a great movie, it has been idealised quite a bit. There are definitely big problems with it. Some of the acting is bad even for SW, the final space battle is pretty weak, the lightsaber fight is obviously hot garbage, the garbage chute scene is somewhat fillery etc. It's also a lot less frenetic and fast-paced than modern movies tend to be, and I personally prefer the modern style. I give it a great deal of credit for the sheer amount of creativity it had, I was marvelling at all the different designs even today. Overall though I'm thinking of putting it below the new 3 films at least in my personal preference.

I'm going to see TLJ again in an hour and I plan to watch ESB and RotJ soon so I won't make a judgement on rankings until then. I've really liked all the new movies though so I'm not even sure how I rank those over each other.

samappo
I've watched the new movie three times in cinemas, gonna go again one or twice more so that I can take some mental notes.

Yeah, no the only good thing about TLJ was its Animation quality.

Rey In one lesson becomes as proficient as a Jedi master which took Anakin/Luke years. Rey literally didn't know luke existed a week ago, literally the bulk of their army consists of a few thousand, watching/protecting Trillions. absolutely stupid.
They take luke out of character and have him die in the stupidest way, snoke was even worse. Admiral Ahkbar was randomly killed, while a purple haired *****, we don't give a shit about, sacrificed herself for the survivors. Fat Asian girl was useless, and a waste of space, they spent 30 minutes at a casino complaining about, capitalism, which turned out to be for naught. Phasma was a waste of time. Leia flying like superman was an asspull.

They shat in on the SW lore, to push their retarded SJW agenda.

Haschwalth
I'd watch the TPM any day over that crap.

Nephthys
TLJ was just as good the second time. In fact I think looking at it more critically allowed me to see that some of the biggest complaints about the film don't hold water imo. Canto Blight was fine, Holdo was justified and Snoke is still a better villain than Dooku. Finn, Poe, Kylo and Rey all have very well realised arcs that are all pulled off well in the film.

ANH 8/10 - (even though quality wise it's not the best, you can't beat the classics man. It's the Old Testament.)
RotJ/ESB 8.5/10
RotJ/ESB 8.5/10 - (interchangeable; depends on my mood; haven't sat through either in a few years)
RotS 8.5/10 - (great emotions; great plot)

R1 7.5/10 - (only watched 1 time, but liked it)
TLJ 7.5/10 - (until I watch again, this is where it stands)

AotC 6/10 - (answers some questions; Geonosian scene makes up for a lot)
TFA 6/10 - (only watched 1 time; mediocre at best)
TPM 5/10 - (I just see Oscar Schindler all the time. Maul makes up for some. That and Padme's beautiful body.)

TCW movie 4/10 - (boy it sucks)

People really care about that whole "TFA is just a New Hope ripoff!" thing, huh.

When a movie is uber predictable, like TFA, it goes against my criteria. It's not good when I'm able to predict what happens scene after scene. TLJ tricked me a few times and kept my on the edge of my seat.

TLJ isn't even a well made movie in the story department. Plot's all over the place, the characters are almost universally cardboard, and things weren't unpredictable unless you had an idea of what Star Wars is supposed to be like, not what a movie is supposed to be like. Being new just to be new isn't always a good thing, and here it definitely was not. That said:

If I had to say which movie did the most damage to the franchise, it'd definitely be TLJ, but that's another story. It's still the one that's also made the best aesthetically with the best directing.

Now that I've seen Solo...

1. Empire Strikes Back (It's perfect + higher budget than ep 4. Better themed)
2. A New Hope (It's perfect)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Great film line
3. The Last Jedi (There were disappointments, but left me in awe by the end)

4/5. Rogue One/Solo (Good pacing/costumes/humor/continuity/filming/acting etc. very few disappointments)
6. Return of the Jedi (Palpatine, Vader's redemption)
7. The Force Awakens (very enjoyable film, but boring at times especially climax)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Good film line

8. Revenge of the Sith (Potential to be good undercut by unintentionally hilarious bad movie moments)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bad film line
9. Attack of the Clones (At least it has a plot)

10. The Clone Wars film
11. The Phantom Menace (Pod-racing?)

12. An Ewok Adventure (just for people who like ewoks)

13. The Holiday Special

It's amazing how some films which are so bad they make you question how bad films can actually get emerged from a franchise which started with two of the best films in history.

The Force Awakens. When you use a sequel to reset a story, you should really f... off.

Solo was so bad, it makes AOTC look like ESB. For the first two acts, almost all the dialogue is unnatural and forced exposition. There's literally no attempt made at pacing and we have this batman v superman style alterantion of action, and sudden dramatic twists. It's a more elegant Zack Snyder's sitcom.

The ending could have been great, but it wasn't properly developed at all. It, like rogue one, tries to carry the first two acts with a fun third act, but the first two acts were so horribly structured, that strong acting(which rogue one lacked) can't make up for how awfully the actors and characters are used.
