Idk if there's already a thread or not, but I wanna see other people's top ten movies of 17 lists. Must be ordered and shit.

1. The Shape of Water
2. Logan
3. Coco
4. Blade Runner 2049
5. Thor Ragnarok
6. Wind River
7. Spider-Man Homecoming
8. Star Wars Episode 8
9. Get Out
10. The Big Sick

I haven't seen Dunkirk or Call Me By Your Name yet

Impediment
The first three are in order, 4-10 are in no special order. Logan is the movie of the year, IMO.

Logan
Dunkirk
The Shape of Water
Coco
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
War for the Planet of the Apes
IT
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Wonder Woman
Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Firefly218
I'm glad Logan is getting included and getting attention

Impediment
Thor was a fun movie, but was entirely too corny and somewhat convoluted.

Flyattractor
Darn. Shape of Water didn't come to any theaters in my area.

I wanted to see that one.

Impediment
Logan is, maybe, the greatest comic book film ever made, IMO. It's just........so f*cking perfect. I actually cried genuine tears.

I don't think I saw 10 New Movies last year. Kong would make my list tho.

Impediment
The Girl with all the Gifts was a good watch, but the Last of Us was better.

Oh I do. But tbh I'm pretty jaded so had the movie not made me care about the characters and fall in love with the story, then the fish man sex scene would've come off just stupid

Khazra Reborn
Thor: Ragnarok
Spider-Man: homecoming
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Blade Runner 2049
Logan
Hostiles

That's all I can think of tbh, I didn't like a whole lot this year.

Logan is so overrated. Glad Disney bought out Fox.

Maybe it is, but you need to consider that it was the first good Wolverine solo film.

And yeah, so am I. Disney seems open to the idea of R-rated movies (see Deadpool), so everything *should* be fine.

Anne Hathway was a bitchy single woman but was also a giant monster attacking Seoul.

I mean, there's a certain level of novelty to it, sure, but I dunno if it could be claimed to be that memorable.

It was good. I'm not sure how I feel about Stewart in it, but for the most part Jackman and the X-23 girl were great.

I do agree it's better than the others. I also wasn't impressed with Deadpool and had no desire to ever watch it again. To me personally I am more excited about the FF and their villains than most of the x characters. I do want to see the Avengers pound on the x men. That'll be highly enjoyable for me.

Rewatchability is very important to me. Disney is a business which will always want to maximize profits. They will probably release their r rated films under the fox studio.

Hey, I mean, I didn't think much of Colossal. I thought the Sudekis character was just ****ing weird. The monster bits were all right though. If you liked it, cool.

quanchi112
Colossal was pretty terrible.

My sister used the word "forlorn" when we came out of the cinema. It was so strange for me. I couldn't even get the energy together to be mad at it.

So I murdered my mcdonalds comfort food.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
John Wick 2
Kong: Skull Island
War for the Planet of the Apes
Get Out
47 Meters Down
Brawl on Cell Block 99
Raw
Jungle

Honorable mentions:

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

The Lost City of Z
mother!

I haven't seen and still want to see some of the following...

I, Tonya
Jusctice League
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Thor 3
Dunkirk
Spidey Re-reboot Again
The Shape of Water
Lady Bird

(I have to use Wikipedia to remember everything for 2017)

Adam Grimes
Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2
Kingsman TGC (the wildcard movie I went to see knowing nothing about and ended up loving, I went like 3 times.)
Thor Ragnarok
John Wick 2
War for the Planet of the Apes
Dunkirk (although I think it should have been better.)

I don't think I've liked that many movies, but then again I'm unsure of what came out/I watched this yr.

Patient_Leech
I plan on trying to catch some of the movies they mention in this that I haven't seen already.

iRinktgcrcw

They mention:

Split
Kong Skull Island
I don't feel at home in this world anymore
Ingrid Goes West
Raw
Brad's Status
War For The Planet of the Apes
Belko Experiment
Mayhem
Colossal
Wish Upon

carthage
They made me want to check out Mayhem and Ingrid goes west

Same here. Raw is really good, too, btw. I really liked that. It's an odd and entertaining film, plus you get to feel all fancy, snobby, and intellectual because it's a French film.

They also made me interested in I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore and even Colossal. Maybe even Wish Upon for a good laugh with some friends. laughing out loud

Patient_Leech
They have a Part 2. I'll watch this soon...

Yav1kBLXMxI

Robtard
Watched a lot of 2017 movies, so probably forgot some and in no particular order:

-The Shape of Water
-Dunkirk
-Windriver
-Logan
-Star Wars: The Last Jedi
-Spider-Man: HC
-Bladerunner 2049
-Thor: Ragnarok
-Murder on the Orient Express
-Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Honorable mentions:

-Split
-I, Tonya
-Kong: Skull Island
-Ghost In the Shell
-Life
-GoTG Vol2
-IT
-War for the Planet of the Apes

Haven't seen yet, but I suspect I would greatly enjoy and might replace a film in my Top 2017 Ten:

-Hostiles
-Detroit
-All the Money in the World
-Darkest Hour
-The Post

carthage
Detroit was solid
Just really overlong but there are some good scenes in it

quanchi112
Detroit was boring as ****. I shouldn't have even stayed on to see the rest of the film. I'll never watch that boring piece of shit again.

-Pr-
Not in order, nor are they the critically best movies. Just the ones I enjoyed the most of what I saw this year:

Wonder Woman
Blade Runner 2049
Logan
Baby Driver
Wind River
Arrival
It
John Wick 2
Justice League
Split

Patient_Leech
^ Arrival was 2016, bro. It was a nominee for Best Picture.

I watched some of this. I do want to see some of these films they discuss. The only one I've seen so far is It Comes at Night. They are right, it's a very poorly marketed film. A good film, but the title is extremely deceptive and sets up the wrong expectations.

(0:23) The Blackcoat's Daughter
(4:07) It Comes at Night
(8:28) Gerald's Game
(11:25) The Florida Project
(16:17) Killing of a Sacred Deer
(20:19) Mansfield 66/67
(22:31) Dunkirk
(22:50) A Ghost Story

carthage

The Nuul
john wick 2
kong
ghost in the shell
blade runner 2049
split
shot caller
wind river
IT
logan

heres mine or close enough

Patient_Leech
From the Red Letter Media 2017 mentions, I've now watched...

I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore
Mayhem
The Blackcoat's Daughter
Dunkirk
A Ghost Story

I would definitley add I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore to my best of 2017 list. Really good movie, and very unassuming. Mayhem is also highly entertaining. The Blackcoat's Daughter is an okay thriller/horror, not really worth the time honestly. A Ghost Story is sort of interesting, but too artsy fartsy quite frankly, definitely not mainstream stuff.

I still want to see...

Ingrid Goes West
The Florida Project
Colossal
