No, unless you are willing to be opened to the suggestion that a force user of that time, such as Revan/Traya managed to devise an ability to counter his technique, as they and several others during their time are the only ones that have encountered that sort of Drain.

It would be like expecting Sidious to create a technique that, counters abilities, not dealt/countered with in in all his texts.
Pretty sure he can't fold-space objects like GM Luke can.

TenebrousWay
Nihilus hunger/wound acts like a singularity in the force. Dooku literally described Sidious as a singularity. Sidious is a stable and more powerful version of Nihilus. Sidious Giga Drains.

samappo
Unless he somehow had access to the Trayus academy or the holocron of someone who knew it, I doubt it.

samappo
Not only that, but the magnitude that Nihilus could do it was specific to him, and him alone.

In the day of KotOR II, sure. Traya specifically says that Nihilus may soon rival the Ancient Sith, meaning that there's some who were even better than him.

Sheev bias rearing its ugly head.

Lord Lucien
Palpatine looks nothing like Vileplume.

I asked if he knows Nihilus's no-limits gigadrain which some believe is a thing, not whether he can defend himself against it or not.

The quotes I presented literally state he studied the Force in all its aspects and collected all the greatest lore of the dark side. no expression

Palpatine having knowledge of every technique is "subjective."

Darth Nihilus's technique is a product of his circumstances and condition. According to Darth Traya, it cannot be taught..

She might have knowledge of Nathema or Vitiate.

Few people noticed the fact that Vitiate also developed symptoms of hunger from his experiments. After Nathema, he had to siphon energy of his subjects to satiate his hunger non-stop.

How is it subjective lol

The Ellimist
Midichlorian manipulation might be more haxxed than gigadrain anyway. But there must be a reason why Sidious doesn't bother to use that stuff on combatants like Yoda - those Force users must be so powerful that haxx doesn't work as effectively on them.

Azronger
Obviously, midi-chlorian manipulation is the most powerful Force ability ever.

Palps gigadrains Snoke's nuts! thumb up

If what you say is true then why Palpatine did not try it on lesser opponents than Yoda such as Mace Windu, Darth Maul and Savage Opress?

It's not like Kreia was aware of Nihilus' 'current' power, anyways. What she describes is pre-eating planets Katarr and pre-Ravager.

And Palpatine was not a stable Force Wound. He was described as a black hole of the Force, not in the Force.

Freedon Nadd
Not to mention you're using Lucas canon sources which don't take in account the EU. And the DE quote is outdated. At that time, during DE, Sidious was the only dominating Sith Lord in the canon's.

The Merchant
No she's not. She is aware of Nihilus devouring planets and what not, and states if he keeps eating he will reach the prime power of the tech which at that point rivals "some of the ancient Sith" though I do think in time he eventually will surpass that plateau since she does think Nihilus would eat the galaxy if not stopped and she was aware of Vitiate aka "The true Sith"

1. Just because Traya was aware of the 'True Sith' that does not mean she was aware of Nihilus' current power.

2. She merely said in KotOR II:

And another quote was:

She never said she was aware of of Nihilus' current power and his feats. She only said that Nihilus perfected that technique.
