Feedback is appreciated. Hope this elevates your opinion of Starkiller.

Good job!

So he's like a poor man's Darth Maul?

So about that ISD feat:
Just because he powered the shot with his lightning doesn't mean that the lightning itself was powerful enough to do that kind of damage. The projectile itself was what did the damage so the only thing the charge did was send it at the star destroyer with more force. Since force = mass X acceleration, and only the acceleration was effected by Starkiller's blast, the actual power of the projectile on its own (without ANY speed) has to be divided from the power of the shot that Starkiller launched. And even then, we don't know how well the force-impact of lightning matches up with how powerfully it can charge a shot.

It is also likely that there are amplification processes inside the cannon akin to a Turbo Laser. A Turbo Laser takes a blaster bolt and converts it into a Weapon Of Mass Destruction.

Sorry, what? Starkiller's lightning is clearly the energy source for the cannon, which IMHO is what is important. Whether his lightning has the penetrative abilities to get past an ISD's shields + hull seems kind of academic since that isn't really the claim.

The fact that regular cannon blasts were doing jack shit to the shields but Killer's lightning made it blow an ISD in half is fugging insane, no matter how you have sex with it.

Right

That is the claim. Az said "So in order to blow up an Imperial Star Destroyer and penetrate the shields of one, Starkiller would have to generate continental levels of firepower with his lightning." And I really don't think he could have done that kind of damage without the cannon amplifying the power.

It's insane, sure, but it doesn't make Starkiller's lightning continental.

Looks like you didn't read the thread. Galen has a planetary lightning feat in the first novel. The ISD-busting would be nothing out of the ordinary.

It still amazes me that people can write stuff like that and believe it.

It was stated in the databanks, that the cannon could be rewired. This authorially hints that this was the cause of the absurd result.

Debunk it then. The novel states it pretty clearly.

The Core is a planet-wide intelligence but not a planet-wide object. It doesn't have wires stretching across and through all of Raxus Prime's machinery and droids last time I checked. Marek goes its central computer core where its intelligence is stored and overloads its wires and processors. His lightning is not literally coursing across an entire planet, ffs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcMDoloxaGs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6eYtl6DamA: The Mentor is another planet-wide intelligence controlling armies of droids and capable of sending out a signal that corrupts every droid in the galaxy to its mind. It seems to be well beyond The Core from TFU. Despite its power, a strike team destroys it by ripping through lightsabers and blasters through its core processors.

He leapt out of PROXY'S reach and into the clamoring mob of slave droids. Swinging his lightsaber wildly around him, he cut cables and sliced through processors with abandon. Surges of electronic thought seared the air as droids rushed him all at once. He blew them back and thrust his blade deep into a bank of processors.

"Does that hurt?" he asked the Core.

"I do not feel pain," said the Core through PROXY'S vocoder, "and my thoughts encompass the entire planet. Nothing you accomplish in this room will make a difference."

The apprentice didn't waste energy on speech, blocking each of the Core's moves and driving the droid a step backward. Frustration made him strong, even if he presently had no outlet for that strength. Bringing down the ceiling could kill both of them and probably wouldn't have a profound effect on the Core. If it really was distributed across the entire planet, it could be unkillable.

The Force Unleashed

The Core is pretty evidently not constrained to a single central core (badum tss), unless you have more evidence. Citing the Mentor is a generalization fallacy as not all AI are the same.

FreshestSlice
Where's the part where it says the Core actually is spread across the entire planet, instead of just saying it is? Talking about the processors here, as that's what is relevant, yeah?

That feat doesn't prove that he could actually conjure strait up lightning that's powerful enough to circle the entire planet through the insulator that is AIR and still be powerful enough to do physical damage beyond just electric shocks. Not travel through electrum wires powerfully enough to overload a freaking computer, which is meant to hold only a certain amount of energy. The burst he used for that charge might not have even killed ten people.

Yes

Yeah, but the thing about that is that it wasn't unkillable. If it was planet wide, it would have been. And the thing I said earlier still stands.
