Like his bringing them up all the time in casual conversation, saying alarming things like "From a certain point of view, it is the Jedi who are evil", telling him exactly what he'd want to hear from the visions of Padme dying in childbirth (And Anakin thought nothing of it)..
Jim Hawkings couldn't figure out Long John Silver was a pirate, despite his parrot cawing about pieces of eight, all the piratey looking men in a dive he was enlisting, the Black Dog casually walking through the place... There's a reason he called Jim "Smart as paint".
