I finally saw this and it's... great.

The writers/filmmakers took a sort of darkly humorous approach that is perfect, because otherwise it just would have been too fu#ked up and depressing.

Christian Bale had the best acceptance speech ever at the Golden Globes...

I just picked up the blu-ray of this movie this week. It was one of the most provocative films I saw over the winter, and it's freewheeling narrative style was a cool break from tradition. But it was also one of the most polarizing films of the Oscar season; was it all because of it's political content, or was it something more?

I really liked this film too.

I had a thread for it...

Thanks. I did a search for it first in this forum. When nothing came up, I started the thread.

What browser?

I used to have issues with the search in I.E. and maybe Firefox, too, but I switched to Chrome and it seems to work pretty well now.

I just put 'Vice' in again, down in the search feature below. This thread still doesn't come up in the 9 selections displayed.

I've noticed search is very picky, You might not have had the (2018) bit.

Well anyway...

Yeah, I loved this movie. I've actually been meaning to watch it again, but I am having trouble bringing myself to do so because I found it somewhat disturbing. Heh, I mean, it's good that the movie approaches it with a (twisted, dark) sense of humor, though, because otherwise it would be damn-near unbearable. It's also cool how much research and how much he lived and breathed Dick Cheney to make the movie, haha. Not something I'd want to dedicate myself to personally.. haha.. but I'm glad he did.

This was actually my favorite film for Best Picture. I mean, I kind of figured it wouldn't win and was happy to have Green Book win, but this would have been such an unusual and cool winner.

When a movie's premise is that its subject single-handedly moulded recent history, you want more depth and grandeur than this one provides.

I think the point was to make it a more intimate portrait mixed with dark comedy.

Movie is excellent, saw it in the theaters opening weekend and then later at home.
