I haven't watched it yet, but Linus is rarely wrong, so I'd be inclined to agree with him even if I didn't already think that 4k gaming is a bit of a gimmick, at least right now.

With the Xbox One X, I find HDR to be a huge difference maker when it comes to games.

I agree. If you have a TV with good HDR capabilities then it's definitely more noticeable than 4k imo. It can make games look a lot nicer.

That's why for next gen I kinda don't care too much about all the "native 4k or gtfo" attitudes people have. I'd rather have 4k upscaling and put the additional hardware towards something else.
