Hope they go with the R rating for the film and not the usual PG-13 like with the other MCU films.

I am so Ready for a R Rated Disney Movie.

Kazenji
It wouldn't be the first time that they've done it.

BruceSkywalker
don't mind fly, he never gets out..

anyways I could this being released under the Fox banner and be R Rated

No No. That was Buena Vista. I want an R on a Straight Up Disney Movie! MCU Movies still have Disney Logos in their movies.

Was actually hoping for a lesser known actor for the role but this is fine too.

Darth Thor
This would have been perfect as a Netflix series (which are all R-rated). Shame that Netflix stuff is all over.

If Feige is announcing it then its MCU proper and likely not R-Rated.

I sense Blade vs Wolverine around the corner.

Darth Thor
lol forgot he was already Cottonmouth on Netflix MCU.

jaden_2.0
I remember thinking watching Alita that Ali would make an excellent choice for Blade. Happy with this.

and no that's not what i was saying.

CaveDude33211
Meh. Blade isn't Blade without Wesley Snipes, to me.

I would have preferred to see a continuation of the Blade Series they had on Spike TV years ago, rather than a(nother) reboot with some stand-in.

No thanks.

Maybe not in house but they could always release a R rated film under another studio.

But with Feige announcing it sounds like its not another studio.

Anyway Ignore Carthage. He just likes his crappy - Hugh Jackman and his shitty useless mutant team there just to make him look better.

Disney has gotten away with releasing R-rated films under the names of different film companies they created, like Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures, and when they owned Miramax they let them keep distributing R-rated fare - rare examples of films too hot for Miramax to handle and were distributed elsewhere were movies like Kids and Dogma. There hasn't been a single film they've released where the Disney banner comes up in the opening credits and it's been anything stronger than PG-13 fare, like some of the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies.

Now, because the Disney banner never comes up at the beginning of movies made by Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and presumably Fox, could they release an R-rated movie? Based on past experience, yes.

Dunno because Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios have that family friendly image to them as well. So would need to be under Fox or Touchstone like you said.

But with Feige announcing it on the Marvel Studios panel, I doubt that will be the case.

But we shall have to wait and find out.

TheVaultDweller
I remember seeing Ali for the first time on The 4400 and have been a fan ever since. So, I am optimistic to see where this goes.

Oliver Brown
Mahershala Ali is an amazing actor. Somewhere we all know that this movie is going to be hit as the other Marvel movies.

Dynisty
Will Marvel create an R-rated Blade film tho? I don't know. I hope so.

Robtard
This is the most Comic-based film I'm excited over now, Mahershala Ali is excellent and Blade's an excellent character. Bring it.

I second that. Been wanting them to find a way to get Moon Knight into the MCU for years - I thought it might happen in their Netflix corner. But if Shang Chi can get onto the big screen, then Marvel's crazy Batman can too!

And I want him to say the line "I'm the goddamn Moon Knight!" stick out tongue

I give Blade One Movie and then Blade will find a long Lost daughter (probably with purple hair and a shaved head) who will be better then him in every way and will take over his job.

And be Much Better then him...cause Disney.

Storylines like Demon In A Bottle work better if Iron Man was a Netflix series. You need something with bigger bombast for the movies.

Also Feige has a lot less power in 2010, nowdays he can do anything he wants and Disney will say yes. Feige probly demanded that they rehire Gunn for gotg, he decided to go crazy in endgame with fat thor. Feige has a lot more power to do things in 2019

If its about diversity, not sure portraying a guy chopping off heads is gonna do Muslims any favours.

Better off going with Kamala Khan.

Probably not true anyway.

KingD19
I mean...nobody likes vampires. So if anything it should help out to show a Muslim cutting off a deserving head.

But yeah his denomination shouldn't mean jack. Look and listen to him. He's the literal closest thing we've got to Wesley Snipes except for muscularity, but MCU personal trainers can get literally anyone jacked by the time their movie comes around.

Yes. It wouldn't be popular with Muslim audiences anyway, seeing a Muslim half-vampire using crucifixes as a holy talisman.

Robtard

There's no indication that MCU Blade will be a Muslim**, aside from them casting a Muslim actor and that means exactly nothing.

**Mahershala Ali practices an offshoot of mainstream Islam.

Kazenji
David Leitch (John Wick 1, Deadpool 2 & Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw) would like the director's job.
