1. When Obi wan and Aniken were having their light saber duel in the outer rim what was Obi wans intention did he really want to defeat Aniken or escape the fight as he still had respect or compassion for Aniken? ( ie when he jumps away and says he has the high ground and stating its over etc) what does canon say about this?

2. They say the in the original light saber duel with Aniken and Obi wan: When Obi got the upper hand it happened differently(ie aniken didnt jump over and slashed as obi wan stated he had the higher ground etc) in the novels if so what actually happened and how did obi wan win ?

It happened essentially the same way, but it was executed better. Obi-Wan jumped over Anakin's head, and made it look like he was going to attack from behind, but instead he followed through and jumped all the way to a nearby hill. Anakin was embarrassed that Obi-Wan tricked him, jumped after him without thinking, and got butchered.

Obi-Wan was there to finish the duel. He loved Anakin, but he knew that he'd chosen the dark side and that he had no choice but to kill him. He was leading him to a place where Obi-Wan would have the advantage and only did the "high ground" thing because he didn't truly want to kill Anakin in his heart.
It's all in the novel. The fight scene was edited by George Lucas by the way.
