Vitiate turns Darths (Traya and Nihilus) into ash with his lethal bursts of Force Lightning and convinces Darth Sion to die with Telepathy.

Force Drain cannot undo Immortality (this is apparent when Darth Nihilus attacked Darth Sion) and Vitiate is infinitely more powerful than Darth Sion.
