I'm going to be legit honest. I think Bond works better as a woman, and I think that it is PERFECT that they are passing the 007 title to a black woman. Note that is ONLY BECAUSE I think that Ethan Hunt is a better, more heroic, more spectacular, and more iconic superspy, especially because unlike Bond, his unfliching chivalry is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of Bond's sleazy seducing, which works far better for a woman imo, which again is why I'm glad a woman is taking the mantle.

looks really good

Craig is not Bond.

KingD19
She's not the "new" Bond. She's a completely different 00 Agent, which is why Bond himself is getting called back into action. He's still 007 and Bond, and she is someone completely new who doesn't want to put up with his BS.

Also Craig Bond is nowhere near as bad as say Brosnan or especially Connery.

Kazenji
Who's been saying Connery was a Bad James Bond?....Damn heathen's.

I think KD19 is more on the right path.

I DID NOT say she was the new Bond. I specifically said that she was taking the 007 title (although, I guess she's not going to be 7, but still the point remains).

You made it sound as if you meant she was taking over as the new Bond(since its played by multiple people) and 007 who are synonymous with one another. 007 is Bond.

But her getting a 00 ranking doesn't make her his direct replacement. There are multiple 00's out there. Alex Trevaleyin was 006 for example. So she's another 00 Agent he has to come out of retirement to help get the job done.

Also Kaz when I said bad like Brosnan or Connery I meant with the womanizing and chauvinism. Not bad as in a bad character.

I guess what I'm saying is that the cold-blooded seductive superspy genre would work better with a female lead imo, whereas a male superspy should ideally be more chivalrous, which Ethan Hunt is. That's just the way I look at it.

riv6672
The way I look at it is, if they (whoever they are) want to explore that whole female spy angle, they can create a new character to do that with.

Or they can go rent Atomic Blonde.

Well

A) That LITERALLY is the route that they are taking, so, I guess goodbye Bond...
B) They already DID the female spy thing. It was called Alias. Pretty fun show, so fun in fact that they gave the creator his own superspy film franchise, which he's turned into one of the most successful ever, so again, goodbye Bond...

008 also got killed by Christopher Lee at the beginning of The Man With The Golden Gun.

If Danjaq/MGM/UA/Sony/ whoever owns Bond now and produces the films decides to go female Bond, the franchise is dead already. Bond's character has evolved over the years, but playboy superspy with varying degrees of ferocity, brutality, suaveness, and drinking & smoking are as integral to his character as sports cars, gadgets, and deformed villains and their henchman.

That's without mentioning two bigger points:
1. It dishonors how Ian Fleming wrote and described his character of James Bond.
2. It ignores the years of variations on Bond themes and characters that were progressive themselves: XXX being Bond's Soviet Union female counterpart in The Spy Who Loved Me, James trying to settle down until Blofeld and Irma Blunt murder Tracy Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Wei Lin being Bond's Chinese counterpart in Tomorrow Never Dies, Bond not having sex with Olga Kurylenko's Camille Montes and assisting her in stopping General Medrano in Quantum of Solace, and even M becoming a woman in Goldeneye and onward with Judi Dench filling the role instead of another male actor. Moneypenny is now Naomie Harris and not another "white" actress.

Woke themes infested Star Wars, Star Trek, Fox X-Men, and now Phoebe what's her face is trying it with 007. They should all learn from Star Wars, and especially for Bond, that it doesn't make for good movies.

John Murdoch
Anyways, movie looks great.

riv6672

Arachnid1
As far as I could tell, she's not suppose to really be the new Bond (unless I'm missing something and she went through the same Bond brainwashing wringer he did). She just took the 007 SS tag. I don't see why she'd have to conform to his character traits when they're both in the movie as completely separate characters.

xPRIMEx
The way Lestov made it sound was that she was going to be the new Bond in future films after this one. That would be terrible. Like some of you have said, Bond was meant to be a male character. If they want to make a female spy movie go ahead and do it without ruining 007.

The new trailer has me hyped, looks like it will be a great farewell to Craig's Bond.

I only found out recently the release was delayed again, this time to April 2021...

I can't believe it was originally meant to come out this time last year (2019). Time flies.

Hopefully doesn't turn out like New Mutants

Robtard
God damn it.

Old Man Whirly!
It was excellent, perhaps the best bond of all time. Male is poor as the villain, and the plot at times as is common with bond veers into the ridiculous. High points, the fog fight, the Cuban death of Spectre, Bonds death. Bonds death is handled very well. The Cuban CIA girl is insanely beautiful. An enjoyable romp

Psychotron
Saw it last night. I'd say it's below Casino Royale and Skyfall, but it was okay.

Oh, that's Ana De Armas, Whirly. She's stunningly gorgeous and a good actress.

Check out Knives Out (2019), she's great in it and a very good movie all around. Solid cast too.

And if you want to see her in an absolute stinker of a movie, check out Exposed (2016), with Keanu Reeves. Not a good movie.

Well as far as opening credits go for the Craig Bond films...I guess there really weren't going to top Skyfall afterall.

Movie was okay though felt a bit lukewarm for a send off film. Craig looks like he's enjoying the role for Bond in it so that's a nice change. The rivalry between Bond and the new 007 was surprisingly entertaining. The antagonist felt wasted despite the grandiose scale of his scene.

riv6672
I dig on it.
Craig is going to be a hard act to follow.

Caught this last night, it's Craig's second best Bond film (CR is #1) and an overall really good Bond film, despite the main villain being rather plastic-like, which is odd as Rami Malek is a good actor.

A great farewell for Craig, who imo, is the best Bond of them all. Looking forward to see how they cast next.

playa1258
I would personally rate it the 3rd best of the Craig films after Casino Royale/Skyfall.

No matter who is the next Bond there will be a shitstorm.

So I'm not really in any hurry to see this, but I will eventually.

I'm going to rewatch all the Craig films in order, to see how I feel about them as it's been many years since I seen some of them. I know for sure Casino Royale will remain #1, I love that film.

Yeah, CR is great. I didn't really like Spectre much at all, so I doubt I'd ever watch that one again. And I wasn't as crazy about Skyfall as most people were.

Yeah, I haven't seen NTtD yet, but otherwise that sounds about right.

I remember Spectre had a good opening action sequence that had to be expensive AF and then it was all down hill after that.

Watched this, thought it was great. Managed to have a great emotional hook that Bond films usually lack. Wasn't expecting a Bond film to make me legit cry. 9/10

Lea Seydoux was fantastic and great casting.

My minor complaint is that Rami Malek seemed a bit miscast. He was just kind of cold and not very compelling. Maybe it's just me, though.

Even more minor complaint: needed more Ana De Armas.

He actually seemed like he was trying too hard to be a Bond villain instead of being believable or interesting. Is it just me?

And on an unrelated note... It seems like as many women as Bond fu#ks he's probably got a whole lot more kids out there...

I do not like to watch movies that are about totally thrillers or some drama. I would like to watch that money which helps me to motivated.
