Did everyone get banned?

Because almost the entire world moved on from Internet forums over a decade ago. Because social media allows most people to do what they really want which is scream their own opinion into the void whilst ignoring everyone else's.

This and you know this forum in particular hasn't really been updated for a long time so it's outdated and doesn't have a good way to attract new people.

So the only people that really frequent this forum are people with a nostalgia for it. Also maybe the occasional person that stumbles upon it.

I made a similar thread. Makes me sad. This is the only way I socialize on the internet.

1) Overzealous Nazi mods perm banned far too many members for stupid reasons and killed morale.

2) Social media is the new platform. Message boards are antiquities.

eg I can't recall of another member who got a temp ban, went on a 3-day-tirade because of it, making over 100 socks, spamming the entire forum, insulting all the mods and was still allowed to keep their main account. Even Broly lost his account when he did similar years ago.

What is the benefit of a sock ? I thought the mods can tell if you're one.

Previously banned posters have come back, eg BrolyBlack has been allowed to return many times.

Whirly is allowed to stay because he's not toxic, at least not anymore, not for a very long time.

At this point you've got a mod team that don't really give a shit and why should they? There's too few of them left. They don't get paid for doing it. They don't get any thanks for doing it. They're not teenagers with lots of time and zero responsibilities outside of the forum anymore. Anyone who realistically expects that all the forum rules are going to be remembered and enforced to 100% of the time by the 3 or 4 mods who still remain isn't living in reality. Not to mention that it was the banning rules being adhered to that ended up with huge numbers of contributing members leaving and never coming back.

Why not just make a shit talking thread, where the purpose is to be rude ?

It should be noted that several of those log ins were just to post about how amazed they are that the place still exists. Not to actually do any modding. Their actual last visits were probably years before that.

How do you feel about it ? I feel a deep sense of loss that I can't quite put into words. I've been browsing on here for a decade.

I think the remaining mods should spend a few days going through the active members list and just permaban everyone who's posted in the last year and then leave.

The removal of the "unmentionables" has made this forum have a new lease of diversity and life and whilst, I dont think Neme myself or Stilt should ever be banned for our general behaviour because it doesn't tend to cross personal lines and certainly isn't stalky. In this it certainly does not compare to Voltron.

I did illegally sock on and off for over a decade till the mods let me back though. I actually had many non raging socks on the forum as a member with that and other accounts. I don't do that now.
