Mephisto was generally more about corruption than mind-control and Surfer's 'pure' soul resisting the 'influences'.

I'd say he has decent TP resistance generally, but I don't think decent is good enough against J'onn, who is near the top in terms of TP.

While Meph is perfectly capable of playing dirty if he wants to, he does *not* mindcontrol his victims into his trap --- that's not his modus operandi at all.

Mindgames, lies, secret agendas, sure.

Mind-control? Not really. He plays fair, at least according to his definition of "fair".
