1. Speed
2. Mobility (flight)
3. Energy protection (lightning).


Speed alone is the deciding factor.

Also, current Jen went h2h with freaking Celestial while tanking attacks and laughing at its attacks. That's above anything CM could ever dream about doing.

This is common sense.

The 2nd argument is whether Shazam would choose to use his speed.
A character wouldn't purposely choose not to use speed if they believed they are going to lose if they don't.

Shazam might start the fight with no speed for whatever silly reason you want to make up but he will certainly use it if he's getting beat and on the verge of losing.

You have examples of him using his speed because he was losing a fight? Or is this more theorizing?
