So. We have had Death Metal finish, we have had Doomsday Clock, we have had a few months of comics subsequent to their conclusions...

So how do we treat Pre-Crisis DC comics? Are the feats from these comics usable in 'current' character threads?

My suggestion is that when thread creators have their stips, they define the versions. Similar to how we have 'Classic' Kingpin - if you don't want feats of Batman as an 10 year old kid fighting bears, then simply state you want to use 'XYZ' version of Batman.

But when the OP does not state which version of the DC character is being used, then ALL feats are on the table and usable. Just as we do with Marvel - 'Classic' Surfer still gets all his feats from the 60s until now, etc.

Mods, can we have a ruling?

Same.

If indeed all character showings(in DC's history) become usable after this event, people will just have to specify which 'version' of the characters they're intending to use in the OP. For example: "post-Crisis" Superman, "DCnU" Superman, "Rebirth" Superman, etc.

...Unless they want all of Superman's showings(across all eras) to be usable. In which case it would default to "current" Superman.

Going to be a royal pain in the ass.
So it seems current character=all showings are allowed imo

Pr, too:

In part, yes. It was never "OMGZ Superman is an heckin' Skyfather!"; it was always more about how Superman defies classification, and the headaches that come with that.

People still either haven't read Doomsday Clock, or don't understand that PRE-CRISIS stuff, in it's entirety, was basically made canon. PRE-CRISIS. And everyone knows how ridiculous that guy was.

**** no. Good on! You know you want to.

Ha. As far as I see it, it's no different from having Surfer or Thor or Hulk having their classic feats.

I am currently of the opinion that everything in DC's published history is now canon and therefore up for grabs -- most material seems to paint that picture.

But yeah, if you don't want the 'composite canon' thing to be used, just specify a particular version of the character in the OP.

Make the ruling , GalGadot007.

Its so simple. If you want to limit showings, you specify.

In all seriousness, I agree with Galan for the most part. People just need to state the version in the OP.

DarkSaint85
Strangely, as common sense as that sounds, some people still need to spelled out for them before they accept it

DarkSaint85
So for threads where it hasn't been specified - are PC feats (i.e. everything) allowed?

If the thread just says 'current' Batman, or 'Batman', can his 10 year old bear feats be allowed?
