It's about a bath builder in ancient Rome who keeps getting sent to the future and uses what he sees as inspiration. Baths literally solve every problem in this show.

Major social unrest? Build a bath! Assassination plots to kill the Emperor? Build a bath, the assassins enjoy it and forget their plot.

That plus the interaction between an out of time Roman and Japanese or Norwegian travelers who can't speak the same language makes for an interesting formula. It's just good clean fun, no over the top violence or seriousness.
