Andrew Martin vs. Data
This is not your typical versus match. Instead, I wanted to have a debate about which robotic life form is, for lack of a better word, more human.
Andrew is the robotic protagonist from the movie Bicentennial Man. At the end of the movie, Andrew is approximately 200 years old. He has willingly made himself to age and wither via blood and artificial organs. He also has 200 years of experience/education.
(We'll use the version of Data from Nemesis, since it's the most recent. For argument's sake.) Data is a sentient android who serves as the second officer and chief operations officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. His positronic brain allows him impressive computational capabilities. However, he has ongoing difficulties understanding various aspects of human behavior and is unable to feel emotions or understand certain human idiosyncrasies. Anyone who has seen Star Trek: Nemesis' climax will, hopefully, agree that Data made the ultimate sacrifice and, thus, demonstrated a very human quality.
