Was thinking more of New Goblin, that guy had mad flying skills, gadgets and was comparable to SM in terms of speed, strength and reaction-time. Yet went SM went black, he wtf stomped him.
Hm, true. And Tony wouldn't use some of his more destructive weapons in downtown Manhattan. I'm changing my answer, African-American Spider-man opens him up like a can of tuna.
Symbiote Spidey is pretty damn strong. Remember he pulled apart that giant bolted sewage pipe with his bare hands. Just switch that with Stark's breastblate or helmet.
Spider-man did that by only grabbing it with the tip of his fingers though. So it's pretty impressive. Remember that regular Spidey stopped a train and he is stronger with the black suit.
OTOH I can't really remember any great strength feats for Iron Man.
Even if Spiderman is stronger, I don't see how he is going to damage Tony's armor. Yes, Spiderman stopped a train but he did it over several minutes by applying a constant force.
Tony smashed into a plane traveling at hundreds of MPH without sustaining any damage. That's beyond Spidey strength.
You're making it sound easier that it was though. He had to overcome the train's massive inertia and overpower the engine. That's a lot more impressive to me. Plus, Spider-man has taken grenades to the face without damage, so his durability is pretty good too.
And he's stronger and tougher here.
Or he could web spam Tony until he can't move. If those webs could stop a train I don't Iron Man breaking free.
1) Tanking a bomb with his face
2) Being hit by an oncoming train (director's cut of SM2)
3) Being hammer-smashed repeatedly by a several story tall sandman
