Instead of The Mountain; Cersei calls on Achilles for the Trial by Combat. Oberyn Martell believes it was Achilles that killed his sister and her children.
Only if we consider Arthur Dayne from the books. Arthur Dayne from the show has done nothing to indicate he's anywhere near Achilles. Even the way he moves is slow and clunky compared to Achilles.
Most of Stark's team were little more than boys. Achilles has waded through entire companies of soldiers without a single scratch on him. Plus if you just watch them move, again, Dayne is plainly slower and clunkier than Achilles.
Achilles didn't fight like your usual Spartan, tho.
Guy showed incredible precision and economy of movement (unlike Oberyn who was flashy but wasted a lot of movemeng). It was literally move-kill, move-kill without losing his defensive posture. A testament to a character's skill.
Great choreography.
One of my favorite moves was when he (without looking) blocked an arrow to the back with his shield by nonchalantly slinging his shield on his back all the while still attacking the opponents in front of him.
FIghting style doesn't matter. Achilles is just faster, point blank period. And his own skill is superb. So not only is he just as if not more skilled than Arthur, he's much faster.
Oberyn would be more of a problem, but all his dancing and toying around would get him stabbed.
We can put up videos for direct comparison, but it's pretty obvious watching them.
Unfortunately for you, Achilles has proven more skill than either Dayne or Oberyn, plus he's notably much faster and moves much more powerfully. So there's literally no advantage Dayne has other than maybe better armor.
True, but it's kinda moot. He has plenty of joints and open spaces for Achilles to go stabby stabby on. And it'll only take slightly more effort than just jabbing him in the gut.
After all, his helmet has a big hole...a big sword sized hole.
Achilles looks like he uses mainly leather armor with maybe some iron plating. Won't matter though, I don't see Dayne or Oberyn landing a hit on him, especially if he has his shield. I still maintain my position that no fighter in GoT can beat Achilles in a straight up sword fight. GoT is a great show on many aspects but fight choreography is not one of them.
