Best Film Of The 80's

What do you think is the best film of the 80's?

"Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981).

there are alot

The Breakfast Club
Evil Dead
Friday the 13th
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Stand bye Me
The Goonies
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Thing
Gremlins
Aliens
Revenge of the Nerds
The Terminator
Scareface
The Shinning

I thought the entire "Indiana Jones" trilogy was boring. Just an opinion, so don't shoot.

That said, there are A TON of great movies that were made in the 80's, so much so, it defies the purpose of this thread.

Alright then instead of choosing one movie how about the top five films of the 80's?

Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
The Shining
Henry - Portrait of a Serial Killer
Day of the Dead
The Thing
Rain Man
Cannibal Holocaust
Airplane
Elephant Man

Too many to name just one.

Too subjective. Better off asking peoples favorite movies of the 80's.

BTW, what are yours?

Well, I considered putting down "The Blues Brothers" too, but I wanted to avoid the bitchy "This is turning into a list thread" posts. Instead, I'm seeing "We can't choose just one" posts. Damned if you do....

1987 was the best year ever for movies. The top 5 from that year were:

River's Edge
Wall Street
Fatal Attraction
Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn
Hellraiser

with an honorary mention for Spaceballs and Predator.

I think nearly every year of the 80's had good films.

Raiders rocked them all, but yeah the 80,s kicked ass for movies , but sucked in the music department . Sad

Especially when they tried to put the music in the movies 😉

I used to hate when they put crappy 80's music at the end of each movie.
