Went to see this on Friday night, I didnt really do my research on what the movie was about. Had a vague idea that its about the Russian Mafia in London but didnt have a clue about the plot.
I did enjoy it tho, weird type of story surrounding the baby girl and her now dead mother...weird.
The film shouldn't have ended as it did, should have went on for another 10 minutes and perhaps showed us how the dad of the family gets took down.
Discos - 7/10

I liked it, not one of his best films but it's still good. Keep seeing some moron critics negative talk about non Russian actors playing Russians... it's called ACTING.
Saw it yesterday. Tough subject matter, but riveting storytelling. This was the first film David Croneenberg shot entirely outside Canada. He and Viggo Mortensen are a dream team.

David Cronenberg is doing well again - Yes this movie was shot entirely outside Canada and yes that is a departure for Cronenberg. But then so is making decent movies. He does seem to be doing well with Vigo Mortensen or whatever that guys's name is... but the secret is that he's not filming his own scripts anymore, which are too weird and have no good characters.
Cronenberg is a terrifying imaginative guy who can't write character.
So therefore him and any decent screenwriter are a dream team.
History of violence was a hit or a miss with me, I sorto liked it but have only seen it the once,
To Be Honest I only rented the movie because Ed Harris was in it (big fan) but the movie trailer showed his entire on screen appearence then, he was seldom shown in it....poops

This movie was decent. I felt as though there should've been an extra half hour of film though by the time it ended. It didn't feel wrapped up whatsoever.
Also, I expected the movie to be more badass I guess from the previews, etc. But whatever, it wasn't a bad movie.
It was just way, way too dramatic and predictable for me. My girlfriend had it figured out a 1/4 of the way through. I love Cronie, otherwise, but this one..was like..less likeable than "Rabid".
I thought it was a good movie, if not, just for viggo's performance. At times, the movie felt seamless and well executed. At other times, it felt amateur and choppy. I agree with snake eyes, i didnt feel as though the ending brought sufficient closure.

I thought EP was really good, but I am a Cronenberg fan, so I am biased. Viggo was terrific as Nikolai and Naomi Watts wasn't bad either. I do agree that the ending was rushed.
